This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Chipset performance, stability, features, easy install
Cons: Had a little trouble with installation of USB 3.0 as though it didn't want to recognize. A little persistence paid off and after a few reboots all was well.
Other Thoughts: Up and running several months now and not one problem. Bought for upgrade from previous 760 chipset and from Phenom to FX and with increased ram capacity. No hesitation to buy again.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASRock N68C-GS FX AM3+ NVIDIA GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Decent Board for several builds .... IF you don't plan to use Windows 8. It works just fine for Win 7, but if you have a client build who upgrades to Win 8 you will be telling them to buy a sound card. The board itself performs well in Win 7.
Cons: Does not Support Windows 8 onboard audio
Other Thoughts: This was a real gotcha for me. Had a client upgrade to Windows 8 and couldn't get audio to function afterwards. After emailing Asrock, they confirmed NO PLANS to fix this. Not saying Win 8 is a must or even a good choice. Just be aware of this issue and plan ahead. On the product page you will notice Win 8 is not listed as "supported". Since this board came out during the transition period up to Win 8, a little more of a heads up would have been in order.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PS110U Fast Ethernet Print Server RJ45 USB 2.0
Pros: Works as advertised...3 Win 7 machines and 1 MacBook all working on it as they should. Simple install if you've ever setup a static IP address. Ipconfig /all at the command prompt told me all I needed to know of my own settings to choose an address for the router. (IFCONFIG on Mac) Once you have the default gateway and the print server IP addy you are seconds away from good vibes. I could walk through the well written instructions as a TCP/IP noob, too, I believe.
Cons: Zip so far
Other Thoughts: Had a little problem with existing printer settings, so once I uninstalled the printer the setup program wizard did just fine. Found a "Work Offline" setting checked from where I had the printer as the local printer on one of the machines that was somehow ticked during install but unchecking it made my document instantly print. Doh!READ FULL REVIEW
