Pros: Bombproof design lasts for years.
Usable as smoker, grill, or deep fryer.
Can use propane or charcoal.
Creates fabulous food on a budget.
Cons: No wheels and multiple parts make it a little awkward to transport. Once used, grease/soot will get on your trunk when transporting it.
Temperature guage has only cool - ideal - hot, rather than degree calibration.
Propane regulator adjustment takes some getting used to... small adjustments make big temperature changes, but take a while to take effect.
You'll spend about $40 replacing the aluminum base pan every 5-10 years if you're using it regularly. By comparison, I had to replace regular bbq's entirely about every 5-10 years.
Other Thoughts: I've owned one of these for around 20 years. Have just now purchased a new one after I wore out the old one.
The enclosed design enables you to cook slowly over low heat if you wish. This can create terrific bbq without drying out or charring your food.
The burner also allows very high heat cooking if you need that.
The cheapest bbqs at WalMart cost more than this one. They fall apart much faster. All you get with those is wheels and an attached lid.
We have the cash to blow 10X the price for this. But after weighing all the alternatives, this one is easy, cheap and makes great food. Why spend all that extra cash for stainless steel?
Pros: Will work fine as a router if you flash it with Tomato / DD-WRT.
Cons: Lousy as is. Firmware is a joke. Support site is a joke. Print server functionality very limited.READ FULL REVIEW
