Pros: Great little machine. Upgraded to 4GB of RAM & it flies. Does everything well. Celeron's have come a long way. Benchmarks faster than my 1+ year old, true dual-core HP laptop. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Cons: Other users that are complaining about features that it wasn't advertised to have. Yes, it doesn't have a DVD drive. But, description doesn't say that it does, or show one in the pictures. Be an informed consumer & don't blame ASUS for your shortcomings. The burger I had at lunch today didn't come with a new house, or car. Who can I complain to? Waaaaaaaaaaa...
Other Thoughts: Purchased as a gift. Upgraded the RAM out of the box, just because. The RAM was a little more involved than most, but easy enough to do, even without instructions. I uninstalled most of the bloatware & have no complaints about it's performance. I have been using it for most of the last week & have it set up nicely & running smooth. Flash runs smoothly, for the naysayer below. Decoded a DVD (external drive), just to see what it could do & was pleased with it's speed. Still getting used to Windows 8. All in all, a great machine for under 3 bills, including the RAM upgrade. Highly recommended. Another win for ASUS.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Dead Island PC Game
Pros: IT WAS CHEAP - UNDER $10.00
Cons: DUPLICATE PRODUCT CODE ERROR. RECEIVED GAME 3/12/12 & TRIED TO INSTALL. RECEIVED THE DREADED DUPLICATE PRODUCT CODE ERROR. OPENED A CASE WITH STEAM THAT EVENING. AS OF 3/18/12 I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM STEAM. POOR PRODUCT SUPPORT FOR A KNOWN ISSUE. I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE THIS FIGURED OUT BY NOW.
Other Thoughts: BEWARE - YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY THIS GAME UNTIL YOU GO THROUGH STEAM SUPPORT. NOT NEWEGG'S FAULT, BUT CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE WARNED OF THIS POTENTIAL ISSUE. I WILL EDIT THIS REVIEW IF STEAM GETS THIS STRAIGHTREAD FULL REVIEW
This review is from: CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 CMPSU-430CX 430W ATX12V Active PFC Power Supply
Pros: Seems to be a good power supply. Heavy & voltages right where they should be. I have installed 5 or 6 of these in the past few months with no issues. I had been using the Corsair 400CX for most of my home/office builds & they worked great. Installed quite a few in the last year with no failures. Now that the 400CX has been replaced with the CX430, I am hoping for the same performance & reliability from the CX430.
Cons: Warranty dropped from 3 years with the 400CX to 2 years with this CX430.
Other Thoughts: I really liked the 400CX. It worked great, with no concerns. It was the first power supply I reached for in any home/office new build or repair. I was puzzled when I saw that the 400CX had been discontinued & replaced with the CX430. I just hope that the CX430 lives up to the 400CX's legacy. I just set up 6 new computers in a small office. All the components were the same in each machine, except the power supplies. 4 were the 400CX & 2 were the new CX430. All worked great & have been in service for over 6 weeks now, running 24/7. I will repost if I have any issues. I never understand why when I find a product that is inexpensive, works great & is reliable, it is guaranteed to get discontinued ASAP. The new item rarely lives up to the product it replaced. I hope this time is different. So far, so good!!!READ FULL REVIEW
