This review is from: GELID Solutions FN-SX12-10 120mm Case cooler
Pros: Quiet, Quality built, sleeved connector, low power consumption.
Cons: Would have liked screws shipped with the unit along with the rubber mounts for other mounting options.
Other Thoughts: I am really confused by some of the other reviews saying these don't put out enough air, they are only supposed to put out 37 cfm, it says so in the description, it also says it's only a 1000 RPM fan. Why would you buy it if it wasn't enough airflow for your use?
But anyway I use 8 of these fans as a home theater cabinet cooling system on a thermal switch. When they turn on I cannot hear them while the tv or music is playing and the system is right behind the tv.
I decided on these fans because of their good noise to airflow. Most fans are 30db or louder at 35cfm, these are about 20db. With all the entertainment center equipment off I can just barely hear them, it sounds like a very soft breeze through the trees a long way off... Keep in mind I am using 8 of them at once without any noise dampening...
I would recommend these for just about any application where noise is a concern and you don't need super fast airflow.
This review is from: PHILIPS SPP4105A/17 6ft 10 Outlets 2500 j Surge Suppressor
Pros: Low profile, ability to protect phone/cable lines. some outlets are spaced for bulky power supply units. Light is not obtrusive but gives the information you need.
Cons: All outlets face out so a "side facing" power supply will have to go on the end or nowhere. No ability to protect LAN lines. Cable management is ok, but not really useful. No ability to mount on a wall.
Other Thoughts: All in all this is what you would expect from a surge protector in this price point. The fact that it is relatively unobtrusive and well made more than compensates for the weak cable management system and lack of 90 degree plugs.
The only major wish I would have liked was the ability to mount the unit to the wall, (i.e. screw keyholes) but this does not break my option down to where I would give it less than 5 stars... In this price point this is at the top of the group.
This review is from: Polk Audio CS1 Series II Center Channel Speaker (Black) Single
Pros: Good construction Quality, Good sound levels/clarity, Timbre Matched to both the monitor and RCi (In-wall) series.
Cons: A bit bulky, Polk no longer makes this model.
Other Thoughts: Even though Polk no longer makes the CS1 series speakers they are a great value (at least on Newegg) and sound like a $500 speaker. I bought one of these for my surround sound system in my bedroom, (Polk RC85i In Wall all around except the center) I couldn't fit an in-wall center speaker due to placement so I had been using a Paradigm Audio center which cost $750 new in 2002... This polk actually has better sound quality and better response than the more expensive paradigm and it Timbre Matched to the other speakers. (Yes this does make a huge difference) The paradigm was close but not quite there.
I actually like this speaker enough that I bought another one for another bedroom surround sound system...
I would recommend this for anyone not wanting to pay $600 for a center speaker who wants that level of sound quality...
