EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1573-KR GeForce GTX 570 HD w/Display-Port (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Upgraded from my GTX 260SC to this. Loved the way that old card performed. The 570HD did everything, but many times better. It's more than enough for the games I play on it. BF3 being my most resource intensive game. I usually play Mount & Blade: Warband or Valve games like Garry's Mod. CS:GO looks beautiful.

Biggest pro about going from the 260 to the 570 is that it is much smaller =D

Cons: Get's a little warm sometimes when I get a lot of physics going on in D3. I need to download a fan controller to keep the speed up instead of letting it kick in automatically.

Other Thoughts: Ever since I started using EVGA I won't stand for anything else. Top notch stuff!

SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Fast, fast, fast. I had no problems maxing out COD4 with a large res. Handles anything you throw at it. I had no issues with the temperatures either. Mine averaged between 46-48*C idle and max at 62*C I don't normally play my games at max all the time. Just like to get a bit of eye candy once in a while though. I never checked my temps while running max.

Cons: Can be a slight PITA to install because of the size, and location of the power supplies depending on your case design.

Other Thoughts: The card I got was defective. Kept crashing my games and was artifacting a lot. After reading a bit on forums, seems like it's hit and miss with getting a defective card. As long as you get a good one it's a dang fine card. I returned mine in hopes of getting one that isn't defective. Overall though it's a nice performing card for the money =)
