This review is from: Asus 2-in-1 Transformer Book T100TA-B2-GR Intel Z3775 Quad Core 2GB RAM, 32GB SSD Storage, 10.1” MultiTouch 2-in1 Notebook/ Tablet with Keyboard/Dock, Windows 8.1 – Gray - Certified Refurbished
Pros: - Perfect Size
- Accurate Screen
- Vivid Image
- Light Weight
- Detachable Keyboard
- Decent Battery
- Windows 8 (upgrade to Windows 10)
- SD Card Slot for up to 64GB
- 2GB of RAM
Cons: - Low Storage Memory
- No Soft Key for Windows Button
- No High Quality Covers (Otterbox or equivalent)
Other Thoughts: This 2-in-1 Notebook is probably the best $100 (during a sale) I've spent in a very long time. It is almost exactly what i was looking for. Nothing more to say about the Pros, but there are a few things worth mentioning with the Cons.
The low storage memory can be a big issue because the OS already takes up about 8-9 GB because of size and allocation for backups/recovery. Very little can be installed on it after that, but it does have an SD card slot for extra memory. I bought a reliable 64GB sd card for $22 and so far it's been working out pretty well.
Having no soft key for the Windows Button (brings up the start menu when pressed) is very minor con, but still worth mentioning. Most tablets provide this soft button, but with Windows 8/10, you can just touch the icon on the screen already.
Having no high quality covers can be quite a con for many. Not a big issue for myself as the back of the 2-in-1 Notebook is already made of a rubbery like material. They do make cases for it, but nothing high quality like an Otterbox.
Because of these cons, the product gets 4 eggs from me. Based on how products should be reviewed, this is still a very good rating. If you can get this cheaper than the regular price (heck, maybe even at regular price), this product is very much worth it and I wouldn't pass it up.
Pros: - Big Screen
- Great Price
- Built-in speakers
Cons: - Some VESA Mount Holes don't allow screws*
- Not the best color
- No HDMI
Other Thoughts: This monitor is an insanely good price for a touchscreen monitor. It also came with a free printer, so no complaints there! Where I do have complaints is the VESA mounting holes. I tried to mount it using the proper screws and some of the holes didn't allow the screw to be tightened all of the way. Luckily, I had double sided tape that can hold up to 20 lbs (using it on my non-VESA mount monitors). Another issue that I believe is probably the worst is the color and contrast. Compared to my Acer 21.5" monitors, this monitor has some pretty awful color and contrast. It looks a lot more washed out when compared to those, but looks decent by itself. I even tried to adjust the settings, but nothing worked. The last issue is not having an HDMI port. This isn't too big of an issue as I just bought a DVI to HDMI adapter, but it can be an issue for some.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Plenty of storage
- Good Price
Cons: - DOA
Other Thoughts: I have two of these HDD's. One I bought several years ago and the contacts ripped off of it. There was no rough handling, they literally just ripped off. This new HDD I bought to build a computer for a friend. After setting everything up and powering it on, the HDD made a grinding and squealing noise. The computer did not recognize the drive at all. Have the RMA processed and awaiting a refund.
I've always been told that Seagate was better than WD. I've always found WD to be slightly better, but this completely changed my mind this time. Switching to WD permanently. Going to send the DOA HDD back in the new WD HDD box that I will be buying from Best Buy!
