Pros: cheap 802.11ac router
Cons: too much.
Basically , this doesn't can't work well with devices using broadcom's chipset at 5ghz , no matter it's ac or n. Like my cellphone , my macbookpro , my tablet dell latitude 10. Not just slow , but also unstable.
My router is V2 , and Already using newest firmware.
Paying 100 bucks for a router can't work well with all my devices? sounds like I am a sucker.
Other Thoughts: yeah , it's a good router for suckers.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I was looking for a surveillance system so that I can see my home when I am away. I live by myself and travel often with no one really to look over my home. It made me very uneasy knowing that if something happened to my home no one would know for days. This kit was very easy to setup and I was able to do it over a weekend with no problem, and with no previous security experience.
After getting the system all setup I was very pleased with the video quality. The night vision is good, and allows me to see who walks up to my doors. The DVR has a lot of great features that allows me to record exactly what I want to, without having to waste time later if I need to review any of the footage. Motion detection works great and it really makes efficient use of my hard drive space. The menu interface on the DVR is fairly user friendly and it’s pretty easy to find what I need to get the settings set accordingly to my preference.
Obviously for me though, the best part is being able to view my system from my cell phone. The initial setup did take me a little bit of tinkering to get my phone connected, but once I had it setup it has been great ever since.
Cons: The one area this system came up short literally and figuratively was the length of the cables. The cables are 60 feet long, which was fine for 2 of my cameras, but the others I needed to get longer cables to reach where I wanted to place my cameras. I would advise getting the measurements of the length of cables you need to make sure the 60 foot ones will work, of if you need to also get some longer ones.
Other Thoughts: The system is a good buy for a simple surveillance solution without emptying your wallet. The performance per dollar spent was definitely a good value in my book.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I was looking for a simple little system to help me keep an eye on my shop when I’m not around. The system works mostly as advertised. The setup was pretty easy and I would think most could get it up and running in an afternoon no problem. I did go a little above and beyond and ran my cables through a metal conduit to help protect them, as I have my cameras on the exterior of the building. The cameras otherwise were very simple to install.
The camera quality is okay, they have decent video with the ability to recognize faces with in the reasonable distance. The night vision works well, I found that its better when the camera isn’t pointing out into empty space so I have them angled at about 45 degree angle towards the ground and they work pretty better.
The DVR surprisingly has a lot of options and features for being a basic system, with multiple record modes, PTZ control ability, playback and phone viewing. I have chosen to have my cameras record on motion detection to conserve my hard drive space, although it does just automatically record over old video when it’s full. Currently I’m only using the 8 cameras that came in the package, but I still have 8 more slots available, and with the PTZ control I will probably look to buy some of PTZ cameras to replace the current cameras or just add to the system.
Being able to see my cameras on my phone is the best part. I get email alerts whenever my cameras pick up something, and I able to easily check out what’s going on. Having this constant surveillance has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I can’t always be at the shop, but just leaving it unprotected was uncomforting to say the least.
Cons: This system doesn’t come with hard drive already in it, so I had to buy one separately. Once I got it I was able to install and format it and then was able to record. I strongly recommend buying a hard drive when you purchase this system so that you can record right away
Other Thoughts: Overall I’ve had this system for a little more than a month and this system is what I was looking for. With ability to expand and enhance the system later as needed will probably ultimately end up being the best feature. I would recommend this for someone looking to protect their property when they can’t be there without breaking the bank.READ FULL REVIEW
