This review is from: ZyXEL NBG5715 Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless N900 Media Router IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n
Pros: Dual band.
Respectable signal strength in my apartment.
Cons: I find myself having to reboot the router 2 to 5x a day.
It drops both WIFI and physical Network connections even when not being heavily utilized.
Features in the documentation are not available until you upgrade the firmware first.
The web interface forces you to login over and over. Just switching from one screen to another triggers the login after only a minute on.
I could not find a tech support number .
I am still waiting for a reply from technical support their initial reply to me.
I disabled the 5ghz feature and it comes back up on when it reboots... EVERYTIME.
Other Thoughts: I am really regretting this purchase.
I tried the tweaks I've done with other routers and followed suggestions on the forums to no avail.
Assuming there is not a physical issue with the router I can believe that a new firmware can make it more stable. But I am doubtful from the reading the forums. I also have not seen evidence that the company interacts with users in their forums.
I have reached out to test beta firmware. I will give Zyxel a few more days then I am going to have to request a return to New Egg at this rate. An exchange would be unacceptable as there is no evidence that this just my specific router. I hate doing returns!
What am I looking for?
1. Connections that do not drop daily.
2. A stable web menu interface.
What I encourage
1. Strong interaction with your (Zyxel's) forums.
2. A process to collect issues and recommendations from user's and a place to post what you plan to actually work on.
This review is from: Acer Iconia Tab A500 Protective Case LC.BAG0A.011
Pros: This case is snug. It functions as a stand. It has openings for most (look in cons) of the slots/speakers/etc that Acer has.
Cons: My one big complain is no access to the MicroSD slot. it is totally covered. The case is not very friendly for removing once you get it on. I know, some of you will say "Just transfer data via the network." But I have found this to be terribly slow especially when you are transferring things 100mb or more. If you connect your tablet to your PC via USB you cannot access the external SD slot. I have read in forum's that the next version of Android (3.2) is supposed to give this access to the MicroSD... but I have not seen anything official. I hope this is true.
Other Thoughts: I don't know if there is a better case (otherwise I would have bought it). It does project your Acer. But this company should upgrade their case.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: TRENDnet TEW-654TR N300 Wireless Travel Router Kit IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g/n
Pros: The travel functionality is probably the most significant feature this has to offer. It is the reason I bought it. But the big pro for me is that this was able to replace my gaming bridge and free me from a power cord. I used to use the TRENDnet TEW-647GA (a good product) to connect my media reader to my home network. But this works just as well even with HD content. The plus is that it can draw power from the USB ports of my media player and shut off when it does. Just be aware you will want two USB ports free to power this device. It does come with a power cord through.
Cons: I have not found one yet. Not beyond that some of the directions might be a bit intimidating for a novice. Don't be intimidated.READ FULL REVIEW
