ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

5 out of 5 eggs Don’t settle for anything else! 04/22/2014

This review is from: ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

Pros: Motorola has been the standard for modems for quite some time now. Their products have never disappointed me so far. A great thing that sets this modem apart from its cheaper counterpart the SB6121, is that it features 8 channel bonding on sownstream and 4 channels on upstream. This gives you more than enough throughput for all of you rmultimedia and streaming needs. The SB6121 only features 4 downstream channels and 4 upstream channels. It supports IPv4 and IPv6 to expand network addressing capabilities for the future as the standard moves on to IPv6. It also supports full AES traffic encryption and has a 1Ghz filter for input to prevent signal interference modulation.

Cons: The only con that I have to say is that being as the modem is passively cool (no fan) it can get quite warm during heavy network intensive tasks. This won’t hurt anything which is why I was debating on mentioning this anyway.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great product. I will be staying with Motorola modems for the foreseeable future.

SIIG HDMI Extender Over Single Cat6 with HDMI Loop-Out

1 out of 5 eggs Waste of money 01/02/2014

This review is from: SIIG HDMI Extender Over Single Cat6 with HDMI Loop-Out

Pros: I can see what is trying to be accomplished with the technology. Thats about it

Cons: I used a 100ft Cat6 cable which is well under the recommended length for this device but it would still not work or it would work, then disconnect. Very unreliable. Reliability is a huge issue

Other Thoughts: Go with fiber optic HDMI if you want premium quality and zero interference

CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This power supply is great for a middle to high end gaming rig with a single graphics card. The fact that it is modular is very nice for cable management. Even at maximum load my the fan rarely comes on at all. I am very pleased.

Cons: Its a little bulky for my mid tower but other than that nothing has struck me as bad.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this buy for the budget gamer. Corsair always provides unprecedented quality
