This review is from: Vantec 2.5" / 3.5" / 5.25" SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2
Pros: Connect up any external drive and mount as a USB device for data recovery, cloning, etc. Small and portable. Need to put a new HDD in your laptop with cloning software? Check. Need to "recover" a missing password for a hard disk using rainbow tables and your laptop? Check. Cheap and works as advertised.
Cons: Kind of an ugly setup, but the beauty is in how it works.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Crucial M4 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC 7mm Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT512M4SSD1
Pros: I was able to clone the drive in my 2009 MacBook to the new SSD, swap and reboot. Everything is noticeably faster, and the macbook already had a 7200RPM hard drive upgrade, prior to the SSD. Installed fine, if loose because I was to last to hunt down small screws to make the drive mount the same as the factory one.
Other Thoughts: I've been using SSD at work, and wanted to try it in my older laptop. Even thought my Mac is only 3GB SATA, the improvement over a 7200 RPM hard disk was instantly noticeable.READ FULL REVIEW
