Pros: Inexpensive - works ok for the most part
Cons: No numlock indicator.
Logitech thinks I should load an application to enable an onscreen indicator that the numlock is on.
That's a paddlin'!
Other Thoughts: Removing this model from our purchase list.
I like Logitech historically, but I fear they are trying to play to the bottom of the purchasing curve.
We don't live there, so I guess I need to find a more professional model.
Pros: Small footprint - good graphics for watching video.
High quality materials.
This is the model you want if you want to use a sata ssd - there is room internally to mount it, and the mounting is very neat.
Cons: none so far - working as advertised
Other Thoughts: This was purchased for a mobile cart pc build, using an anthro stand up cart knockoff.
8 gig of ram, intel ssd, Eaton 5S 1500 UPS, I'm getting about 2 hours runtime running windows updates in the background, and play the Red video at 1080P, screen rez set to 2560 x 1080.
We have some people that need a desktop form factor, but it needs to be able to be wheeled around too.
I may get one for home too - though I'll likely go with the I5 version.
This review is from: Tripp Lite SRCOOL12K 120V, Self-Contained Portable Air Conditioning Unit
Pros: Fairly rugged - easily hackable thermistor.
Cons: No included remote sensor - same issue as my previous review.
Had good results with previous unit, so I ordered another of these.
Unfortunately, this one arrived DOA.
No air output from exhaust.
Looked down and I can see where the squirrel cage fan looks like it's cocked.
I also see what looks like a small plastic part below it that appears to have broken free.
Newegg takes too long to process an RMA, and has no mechanism to expedite, so I called Tripplite and arranged an overnight replacement billed to our Fedex account.
Other Thoughts: This is an adequate product.
The 'spot cooling' feature is non existent, unless one is counting the hose as a 'feature.'
Real spot cooling still requires an add on sensing and control unit.
That accessory is just now hitting the reseller chain, and increases the unit cost by about 50%. If I needed that, I'd probably spend up and get a properly designed industrial unit.
This is a home portable a/c with a hose adapter.
