Pros: Plays all my games on highest settings with ease and pretty cheap
Cons: VGA not supported. At 60hz refresh rate, screen seems a little flickery. Catalyst Control Center kind of sucks, as well as the bundled software.
Other Thoughts: Don't get this card if you have a VGA monitor, period. I have dual monitors, one DVI and the other VGA. VGA is not compatible with any of the outs on the card even with adapter cables.
Also if your monitor doesn't go above 60hz at high resolutions, the screen seems a little "flickery". It's not a solid picture.
My last card was a GeForce 9800GTX+ and it seemed more solid than this, quality-wise.
Cons: NOT RELIABLE -- these drives frequently die.
Other Thoughts: I have owned six ST3250410AS drives which are the previous "version" of this drive and 5 out of those six have failed within a month to a year. I used to use raid 0 with two of these drives and I would get volume errors eventually.. I also use them as back up drives because its a good amount of space for general files and documents. However I notice a trend in these drives: as you fill them up (around half) they like to stop functioning. I had about 90gb of files in one and it just now stopped working. Windows 7 doesnt see it and the pc takes forever to boot up because its trying to detect the drive.
As far as I'm concerned, Seagate drives are absolute garbage.
If you buy this drive, I guarantee you it will die within the year.
This review is from: Fantom Drives G-Force 500GB USB 2.0 / eSATA 3.5" External Hard Drive GF500EU
Pros: Fast, reliable, stable, not too hot or loud.
Other Thoughts: This drive is about 80% full and I have used it so hard non stop for a long time now (I do a lot of music production and save work to it continually). It has never given me any problems and it seems to be really reliable. It gets warm after a lot of continual use, but thats to be expected.
I just want to say I'm extremely happy with this drive and will probably get second one.
