Pros: Tons of Channels!!! Streams wonderfully! Fast operation with Roku's new menu system.
Cons: This unit looks like it wont ever get Youtube. Also Not a bad thing but controller wasn't synced right out of the box. After reading instructions and getting the remote synced (all of 30 seconds) the device works great!!
Other Thoughts: Great little streaming player!!! came packaged well and easy to setup. I run this using wifi and it works great! I have DSL 10mbps download and I never see a buffer screen ever. PLEASE READ MANUAL TO GET YOUR REMOTE TO WORK IF IT DOES NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX LIKE MINE DIDNT. EASY TO PAIR IT WITH THE ROKU BOX. TAKES SECONDS TO DO.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Netgear Inc. DGN2200-100NAS Wireless Router with DSL Modem
Pros: Fast, reliable, good range. I connect an Ipod Touch 5th gen to this as well as My cell phone and kindle Fire HD tablet, and two Roku's. I have hard wired my main computer to this as well. everything runs great. I also love the easy press button security set up as well as the other button which turns off your Wifi but not your hard wired connection. So if you go to work you don't have to worry about someone using your router. Also you can setup a second ssid which I did to setup a guest connection to keep people separate from my home network yet still give people/guests access to the internet. Streaming movies is not a problem with this!!!
Cons: Lights don't flash when uploading or downloading so you cant tell unless you have something on screen showing your upload/download progress. Not a big deal but would have been nice.
Other Thoughts: I have the dgn2200v3 model and could for the life of me not figure out why I could not save changes in the routers config. Then I tried something. I was using Internet Explorer to log into the router and change settings. With no success I tried Firefox browser and I was able to change the settings and SAVE them. I don't know what in Internet Explorer prevented me from saving changes but after using Firefox everything works great. Very easy to upgrade firmware and very solid performer after everything was done. I use my model Dgn2200v3 With Centurylink and everything is great. I only use firefox to change settings and save them after that I went back to internet explorer cause I know it better. not knocking Forefox browser at all.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: The Roku is simple to setup. However out of the box the Controller did not work. Opening the instructions explained why. I had to Pair my controller to my roku box. This was very easy and only took a few seconds to do. After that it was on to install and setup the Wifi connection. When the Connection was made I updated the software. Then I selected the channels I wanted and I was watching movies and shows in no time. Everything streams great!! I have the roku 3 (newest model) and this works just as well plus you can hook up this model roku with older TV's that use composite cables (red, yellow, white connections) and don't have HDMI connections. The Roku 3 only has Hdmi hookup. Having both the Roku 3 (newest as of this writing) and the Roku 2 xs I wish I had bought two of these for the price of the Roku 3. Yes the Roku 3 is a little faster and yes it has an earphone jack on the remote but other than that I cant really tell the difference. The new menu system seems to be the same one on the Roku 3 and is very easy to navigate. Best money I have spent in a while. I now know why these roku boxes get such rave reviews... They just work as advertised. Yes I recommend and would buy this all over again.
Cons: The only con was having to get the controller to work with the Roku box. After reading a small page in the instruction booklet the problem was easily remedied. I bet a lot of people have sent their perfectly working unit back thinking their remote was broken and did not even bother to read the instructions.
Other Thoughts: Great little machine which will give me hours and hours of entertainment. This is the second one I have bought. I bought one for my dad too.READ FULL REVIEW
