Pros: Dual CPU Socket
Large number of PCI slots
Cons: Board failed with just 4 months of use. The SATA ports have caused many errors even making 2 harddrives that were brand new unusable. Asus technical support is impossible to get a hold of even to RMA. Online chat gets disconnected before the rep actually helps. Their RMA site does not allow you to submit requests with the error - "Dear ASUS User
Due to the Server is now busy, we apologize the webpage(s) cannot be opened on your request. Please try this site later. Thank you." googling this you will see many people have the same issue.
This board is a waste of money and for the price I expected higher quality.
Other Thoughts: I went with ASUS because I have used them in many other rigs, however this board is just plagued with issues even with an upgraded non-beta BIOS.
Intel Xeon E5-2670 x 2
Geforce GTX 660
32GB DDR3 G.Skill Ram
Samsung 840 240GB SSD x 2
Western Digital 1TB x 2
Pros: Excellent Performance
Can pair together for dual CPU's
32 Threads (2x 2670)
Other Thoughts: Two of these processors together provide great performance using 3DS Max with Mentay ray and also video editing in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Our render times are down from 1.5-2hours to as low as 10minutes!READ FULL REVIEW
