This review is from: SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD250KW 2.5" 250GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Pros: This is a great way to make your system really sparkle regardless of it's age. Added it to an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. Not only does it boot fast (10 Sec.), but large applications like graphics and video editing load and execute much faster. Re-encoding large HD movies is now almost enjoyable. It also extended the average battery life by over an hour.
Cons: It is more expensive per GB stored than a hard disk and I wouldn't depend on it for long-term data storage.
I knocked it down an egg because I couldn't get the data migration software to work and had to resort to an another package.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't depend on an SSD as my only drive in any computer, but it excels as the OS drive.
This laptop gets used every day and the new SSD hasn't hiccuped once since I installed it 2 months ago.
