This review is from: N Logitech K310 Washable Keyboard for Windows PCs - Black/White (920-004033)

Pros: I love this keyboard. There is nothing wrong with Logitech's product.

Cons: One star rating because the I only received a quarter of what I paid for. I will avoid AutoPartsZone in the future.

Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 69W BX80637E31230V2 Server Processor

Pros: 8 threaded Ivy goodness for a reasonable price when compared to the i7s.

My handbrake encodes are ~2.5x as fast as my phenom II x4 940. I have let this thing encode for days and have not had any stability issues.

No onboard video is a plus for me.

Cons: The stock cooler's temp topped out at 72 C when doing a handbrake encode. I switched to something with 2 120mm fans and now it gets up to 59 C when running at 100%.

Make sure your case has plenty of ventilation. I am using a nice Fractal case with cable management behind the mobo panel. If I was feeling a brave I would have gone for water cooling.

Other Thoughts: I bought this CPU for a home server build that will eventually be running server 2008 r2 with a bunch of VMs. This will replace my old Athlon X2 home server. Right now it is just running win7 while I finish up some encoding projects. When HDD prices finally become reasonable I plan on turning it into a server.

I am using an ASUS P8C WS (only purchased for the 2008 R2 driver support).

5 out of 5 eggs Gets the Job done 11/22/2010

This review is from: StarTech MCSATAF12S 12" Micro SATA to SATA with SATA Power Adapter Cable

Pros: This adapter was purchased to get data off of a Samsung 256GB 1.8" SSD. Once the adapter was plugged into a desktop mobo, the PC booted up and recognized the SSD as a secondary drive right away.

Cons: The adapter did not work with a sata-to-usb adapter but this was expected. Although i would have liked to daisy chain the adapters instead of opening up a PC and using a SATA slot on the mobo, I feel that this is not the micro sata adapter's fault.

Other Thoughts: This is one of those items that was needed urgently once and will probably never be needed again. Its nice to know its there though.
