Nice device

Edimax EW-7438RPn V2 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender, Repeater, Wireless Bridge, Access Point, Wall Plug design, Smart LED Signal Indicator, Easy iQSetup by Smart Phone (No CD Required)

Pros: My goal was to to extend the wifi in my house to the 2nd floor, so I was looking for an inexpensive compact n device that plugged directly into the wall. I didn't realize how compact it was until I took it out of the box. And for the cost (half price + $5 off coupon) it definitely fit the bill! After installation, I ran a speed test from the worst location on the second floor. First connected directly to my router, then connected to the device. Speed with the device was 6x greater than connected to the router! Can't comment on reliability; I've been using the device for only a day. This device definitely delivered!

Cons: Would have given the device 5 stars had the setup been a little easier. The device has it's own initial dedicated IP address, which would normally not be a problem except that the device forces you to connect to your network on initialization. Once connected to your network (via DHCP), you loose the initial IP address and need to figure out what the new IP address is so that you can log into the device for further configuration. Not a big deal, I just went into my router and looked at the wireless device with the shortest connected time and figured this was the extender. With this I was able to access the device and continue with the configuration (which included assigning the device a dedicated IP address for future access).

SATA problems

Foxconn G41MXE LGA 775 Intel G41 + ICH7 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Foxconn G41MXE LGA 775 Intel G41 + ICH7 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Inexpensive. Great features for a NAS box.

Cons: On my second board. First board had a failed SATA port right out of the box. Newegg immediately replaced. Second board lasted about 1 month before it blew two SATA ports. I'll try and have it repaired and keep it is a temporary emergency spare, but I will be replacing it with a higher-rated board.

Overall Review: I have another Foxconn board on a separate computer. It's been in service for about 4 years with no problems. Must be a manufacturing or design problem with this board.

Great case, great price

Antec Performance Series P101 Silent Black 0.8mm SPCC ATX Mid Tower Case with 8 x 3.5" HDD / 2.5" SSD Removable Bays
Antec Performance Series P101 Silent Black 0.8mm SPCC ATX Mid Tower Case with 8 x 3.5" HDD / 2.5" SSD Removable Bays

Pros: - 8 tool-less 3.5” bays - Plenty of air intakes; drives are running ~28 degress - Great cable routing; nice clean design - 4 included fans - Plenty of room for ATX motherboard - Everything you need included - EXTREMELY quiet

Cons: - Not for me, but no top or side ventilation - Depending on the rigidity of power supply SATA cables, may not have enough room to close the side panel facing the back of the 3.5” drives

Overall Review: Using as a FreeNAS case. A great case and extremely price competitive (and that’s before the rebate). Was considering a case @ 50% more in price plus I’d have to buy the fourth fan. Glad I went with this one and highly recommend it.

Beware of DVI

GIGABYTE GeForce 8400 GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card GV-NX84G256H
GIGABYTE GeForce 8400 GS 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card GV-NX84G256H

Pros: Price.

Cons: Using for HTPC, purchased primarily for the price, NVidia rep, and DVI output. When using DVI output connected to an HDMI HDTV input, the card fools the TV into thinking audio is connected to the HDMI input causing the HDTV to ignore its audio inputs. Did not have this problem with the 6150 chipset. Using the latest 163 driver. Apparently this is not an uncommon problem with the 8400's and 8600's. Also, as someone else mentioned, the text quality is very very poor. 30 days is almost up. Will get an RMA ASAP.

Overall Review: Received from Newegg the next day!!!!! Too bad the card didn't live up to my expectations like Newegg did.
