Unassuming and efficient
Pros: small! this thing is not even half the size of the DVD player it replaced. Good playback, fast and responsive and not too picky about scratches or defects on the DVD. It is simple, it does the job.
Cons: well it's not a Bluray player. Apart from that, nothing. Couldn't get the remote to connect to my Vizio TV.
Excellent little netbook
Pros: Small, lightweight, superior matte screen (compared to other netbooks). Good multitouch functionality on the trackpad. No bulging battery pack. Tiny power brick. Matte surface finish is not a fingerprint magnet. Great battery life.
Cons: I am not a fan of the trackpad button, which feels a little hard. The memory died on me after one week. Good thing I had a spare 1GB module. I am not sending back the whole thing to Asus for that, but still, one egg down for that.
Overall Review: The ExpressGate feature feels like a gadget to me. I'd rather wait for windows to boot. I really wanted an ultralight laptop, but since AMD bobcat and Intel Sandy Bridge are just around the corner, I figured I'd just buy the bare minimum and wait for those to come up. Atom N450 processor is slow, but it does Web browsing, basic productivity and even some old games (Warcraft III) really well. I also use it to remote desktop into my work computer. This is so convenient on a business trip.
The best espresso experience
Pros: -The experience is so smooth you'll forget about cream and sugar to just focus on the coffee taste. Nothing comes close. You'll laugh at the baristas at the posh Café down your street. All the better if you live in a smaller city without a posh Café. -Even with a single nozzle, you can whip out several cups fast. -Maintenance and operation are easy. -Did I mention the coffee was good? It's unbelievable.
Cons: The machine is somewhat expensive, but like a printer or razor, the real cost is in the consumables. A single dose costs $0.55 or $0.62. I still make my morning coffee with my old drip machine and I use this one for special occasions, company and the occasional after lunch coffee or after dinner decaf.
Overall Review: -Whether you buy this one or one of the other Nespresso machines does not really matter. The coffee will taste the same. I bought this one because it is the cheapest one and I have no use for a milk frother or any other fancy (and expensive) add-on.
Inconspicuous and fast
Pros: Tiny, tiny, tiny. Decent speed for the size. Check reviews, it stands on the higher end of the spectrum in spite of its size. Robust (so far)
Cons: Fits a little bit too snuggly in most USB ports. You have to ram it in. It could afford to lose a millimeter in thickness near the connector. Gets warm.
Overall Review: I use it as a data repository/ Ubuntu Live disc. The size alone does it for me. I bought a quick release key chain to keep it attached with my keys and to avoid having my whole keyset dangle from the side of my computer during use.
Good dvd burner
Pros: It's fast, it's SATA, it's not loud. DVD burning works fine. I don't ask for anything more from such an item.
Cons: None at this time
Awesome card
Pros: Runs my favorite games at 1680x1050 resolution and all the eye candy pushed up without any problems (ok, I don't have Crysis). Not too noisy, fits comfortably in my Antec Three Hundred case.
Cons: runs hotter and draws more power when idle than the nVidia equivalents.
Overall Review: This is truly the sweet spot for gaming cards. the GTX260 is more expensive and not much more powerful. I guess the power draw difference at idle could have a significant impact on your yearly energy bill if you leave your computer on 24/7, but I let my computer hibernate when I'm not around.
