This review is from: Hauppauge WinTV (HVR-1265) Hybrid TV Tuner w/ Video Recorder PCI-E x 1
Pros: Excellent tuner sensitivity
Short PIC-E card
Comes with all accessories - remote, low profile bracket, 3.5mm adapter etc.
Cons: None as I don't use any of the included software or remote.
No on board MPEG2 encoding
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my Hauppauge HVR-2250. The 2250 is a dual tuner with a built in splitter but that led to a unacceptable level of signal loss. This single tuner has great signal sensitivity. It will pick up and tune all of the available OTA ATSC broadcast in my area without problem, something the 2250 couldn't do. I use a Logitech Harmony One and NextPVR with Kodi for my live tv streaming, therefore I can not comment on the included software or remote.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Asus RT-AC68P Dual-band Wireless AC1900 Gigabit Router-Certified Refurbished
Pros: Works exactly as described.
Receiving advertised speeds.
Seems peppier when logging into my wireless IP cam from outside the network compared to older Asus 2.4g N router.
Cons: None as of yet.
Other Thoughts: Came in a plain white box with router, antennas, power cable, setup CD and instruction manual. Firmware was two generations behind. Updating the firmware was a breeze. Glad I made the jump, great router for the price. Got mine with 30% promo code.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: A solid monitor for the price.
Other Thoughts: I ordered a 2nd one with the current sale/rebate.
Every TV and monitor needs to be calibrated, expecting it to be calibrated from the factory is crazy talk. This monitor is no exception, with proper calibration it provides a great picture.
A comment on the sound, I don't use the speakers built-in. Why?
Who thinks a speaker, 1 inch in size, is going to provide any quality sound? I use a receiver with x2 Polk bookshelf speakers.
With the proper knowledge of video and audio, managing ones expectations, this is a great monitor. I can't wait for my 2nd one to arrive this week for my dual monitor setup.
