This review is from: Noctua NH-D15 SSO2 D-Type Premium CPU Cooler, NF-A15 x 2 PWM Fans
Pros: Believe the hype, this cooler is awesome. While in a non-overclocking configuration and using the NLAs supplied, I could not tell the computer was on. My FX-8350 on stock settings while preforming a 3 day burn in the temps never went above 50 degrees Celsius. While overclocking without the NLAs this cooler can be heard but just barely. I was able to hit 4.9Ghz with my FX-8350 @ 1.5volts and it was stable at 78 degrees Celsius. Not a sustainable or desirable result but does show how well this cooler dissipates heat. The overall best feature is the silent performance while using the LNAs and silent fan profiles within the motherboard. This setup is so quiet I have to listen to music while computing just to break the silence.
Cons: So quiet I hate my other computers now.
Other Thoughts: This cooler is gigantic so you will want to measure your clearances before purchasing. FYI this cooler measures.
6.30” x 5.90” x 5.30” ( Without Fan ) (H x W x D)
6.30” x 5.90” x 6.33” ( With Fan) (H x W x D)
Pros: Fast and cheap CPU. Overclocked to 4.9Ghz with no problems on ASUS crosshair V formula Z motherboard. Black edition is awesome because you have full control for overclocking or underclocking (which ever fits your build goals). This is my second AMD build after a century of intel only builds and I couldn't be happier. All the money you save on the CPU can be diverted to more important parts (in my case GPU).
Other Thoughts: stock cooler is from cooler master but is severely limited.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Very overclocking friendly with 8+2 VRM design and allot of passive cooling onboard. My FX-8350 is hitting 4.9Ghz with no problems and more head room is left. This motherboard is known to scale into the 5.5Ghz range with the right setup. Has an intel Gigabit LOM so connectivity is not a problem and it also has wireless for the compromisers. Noctua NH-D15 clears with room to spare. Fastest booting motherboard I have dealt with (minimal UEFI tweaking required). Onboard power/reset switches for ease of bench testing.
Cons: Price is high but you have to pay to play.
Other Thoughts: Lots of cables and accessories.READ FULL REVIEW
