This review is from: SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P3113GRSXAR WiFi 7-inch Tablet Bundle with Case - Garnet Red
Very complete for use of apps.. lower cost devices often don't support all this
Cons: Proprietary Samsung cable.. instead of standard USB plug on device
The really cool red case that comes with the really cool red tablet blocks the IR blaster feature.. guess who ever they outsourced the case to didn't notice the little window for the IR.
No official FlashPlayer now.. so not all websites will play video.. be careful of Apps saying they will help you get Flash player.. some of them are trojans.
Other Thoughts: Its my first Android device...
Don't like it as much as my Windows Phone UI.. seems OLD and combersom but I like the Access to the android apps for now. In a a year I expect I will replace it with a Windows RT tablet. after the stupid APP developers figure out the market changes..
Pros: Lots of features for low price.
ADF that does Legal Size
Cons: Default FAX settings don't work well with Vonage
Output is just dropped on Input.. wonder if larger print jobs would eventually jam.
Appears it could take a duplexer add on but none offered by HP.
Not sure this is enough printer if you print more than a dozen items a day. Input and output system limits it
Other Thoughts: I got this for a great sale price during December. We like the network scanning and fax soo much w are actually upgrading to an 8500 to get the duplex and better paper handling. The 8500 may replace my trusty 10 year old Brother HL1670n mono laser.
Two Notes: Download the new full install software from HP.. CD has issues (would not install on one machine, but online version ran perfect)
Also if you get communication errors when faxing.. turn off ECM. That fixed it for me.. for a while I thought the fax was bad. Turns out ECM and VOIP often don't get along.
Pros: Built in Smart Card Reader
Built in Finger Printer Reader
4 USB ports (shares one with E-SATA function)
VGA w screws and display port on back with power cord where they should be
4 wire 1394
2 MP web cam with stereo mics
Decent stereo speakers
56K fax modem (not listed here on New Egg but it is there)
1600x900 14 inch screen
HP will ship you free recovery DVDs in Win 7 32 or 64 bit or both for first 30 days. (check the warranty start date - HP tries to start it based on when Newegg ordered the machines HP can update this but you have to call them)
Most of the trial bloatware is not preinstalled.. can be installed as desire.
Can order Bluetooth module for $19 + shipping from HP Parts.. and it is installed under a one screw trap door at very front of machine very easy to do, cable is already there.
Fingerprint reader is very good and log on works even if Windows is joined to a domain
Tons of security features for business but most can use them as wanted.
Cons: Ships with Win 7 32 and NO Recovery DVD
Does not include Bluetooth
"Mouse" buttons for touch pad and pointer stick press far with no tactile feed back (no Click)
Touch Pad is a smaller than it needs to be
Screen has narrow viewing angle compared to better LCD monitors and has very cool (blueish cast) before being calibrated
Other Thoughts: If I go to HP site right now and configure this machine it is over $1800!!! This is a great deal.
The machine is fast, the fingerprint logon at boot makes the machine secure with little or no fuss.
Speed is great.. With NVidia it scores 4.9 business and 5.9 gaming graphics CPU 6.5 Ram 6.7 Disk 5.9 on Windows Performance
This machine is well made, has a ton of features.
Once I calibrated the screen the color in Windows is great.
This machine also has a Quick View that lets you view calendar and contacts and inbox without booting to windows (its a capture to a special data base for the feature) also will quick boot into a Mozilla based browser that plays flash and some videos.
It looks nice, it is fast
The included battery is 9 cell and can run for 6- 8 hours
Plus it has a nice 3 year warranty that is over $300 if bought separately from HP.
This is not the lightest Notebook I have owned but it is the best of 6 that I have owned in the last 15 years.
