This review is from: KEF C3 Bookshelf Speakers (Black Ash) Pair
Pros: KEF quality on a blue collar budget. I compared with KEF Q series bookshelf speakers and while there was some difference I did not consider it worth the extra cost. I would recommend pairing with a sub but that is true with almost any bookshelf speakers. Best used for a stereo music set up or as rear/sides in a HT set up.
Heavy and quality construction. Good entry into the world of higher end speakers.
Cons: Not going to wow you with looks but the sound is there.
Other Thoughts: Keep and eye out for sales, these can be had for even cheaper than list price.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 10" Subwoofer with 300W Amp (Black) Single
Pros: I paired this sub with two KEF C3 bookshelf speakers and an older Cambridge Soundworks center channel and the results are awesome. I use the setup for 75% TV and movies and 25% music in a very large (20x22ft) family room with hardwood floors. The base is thunderous when it needs to be and very natural sounding with no rattling or other oddities. Easily accessible side volume knob. The 300W integrated amp is a nice feature. Overall high quality construction and good packaging.
Cons: Not the sleekest looking sub ever but not bad looking either. Only have had the sub a few weeks - will update review if I come across anything else.
Other Thoughts: Keep an eye out for sales, this sub can be had for $300 making it an amazing value.READ FULL REVIEW
