This review is from: D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit
Pros: This router is super fast in the direct hookup mode to my desktop and the wireless application is also very fast too.Not only does it seem to not cut down link or download speed but may increase the download rate.It also has some other very good features.
Cons: This device has some MAJOR firmware issues that causes it to drop ALL links within emails. It also will not allow certain websites to load. You will get an error message when these issues occur, saying your firewall is causing the problem. However, disconnect this device, and the problem goes away.I contacted the D-Link about this but could not understand the 1st person I called as he was Hispanic and could not understand English or speak English well enough to be of help. I was never able to try the 2nd attempt emailed to me by D-Link to try and fix these issues as the RMA arrived and I returned it to New Egg. I also was offended by the fact I was asked to pay to return this device back to New Egg and it defective but they did the right thing in the end and paid the shipping back to them.
Other Thoughts: I was offended I was required to pay to return a product to New Egg that was defective. I was also delighted when they stepped up to the plate and sent me an email with printable RMA and UPS shipping label, thereby paying to return this to their warehouse. The bad thing in this is New Egg is faultless in this as they only sold the product but it is New Egg taking the hit on this clearly faulty device. I think D-Link as well as other router companies know they have firmware issues when their products leave their factories but ship them out for sale anyway. I hate New Egg had to take the hit on this product as it is D-Link who should pay for sending a product to New Egg to sell that is not ready for the market due to firmware issues.
I think New Egg is a great company and I would recommend them to ANYONE wanting a good product line and GREAT service!
Pros: I cannot say enough good things about this little 2.1 speaker system!
I bought this system in town from a local dealer who has no review site. The volume control is great and makes using this system very easy. Clear non-distorted sound reproduction and plenty loud. The MP3 docking attachment and headphone plugin on the control is also a great plus as it makes using these devices easy and painless!
Cons: I have no cons but I can say the control knob for volume is a little touchie and could use some type of stiffener in it to make it not to be able to be bumped and change the volume. However, this is not a complaint as much as a suggestion! I have NO complaints about this system really!
Other Thoughts: I bought a Eagle Ario ET-AR508LR-BK from Tiger Direct and it came in with a non-working satellite speaker. I returned it for replacement but they did not have them in stock anymore, so I got a refund.
I can honestly say this speaker system is a much better "Bang 4 the Bucks" than that system even if it had worked!
This is the best computer system I have ever owned for this price.
It sounds as good as systems I paid 3 times more than this one did! I sure wish the guy I bought this system from had the Cyber Acoustics CA-3550 system when I bought this one as it is 68W instead of the 30W this one is. If this system sounds this great, what would the 68W system had sounded like?
Anyway, that is a "Grass is Greener on the other side of the fence" deal. This system does ALL I need or could ask a computer speaker system to do,it produces sound, at volumes beyond my tolerance to endure, and reproduces those sounds in crystal clear reproduction. What more is there?
This review is from: Eagle ET-AR508LR-BK 140 Watts 2.1 Speakers - Retail
Pros: These speakers are very powerful and have a super powerful sub woofer. They have brilliant crystal clear satellite speakers.
The remote control makes setting the bass, mid range, and highs easy.
Better have plenty room for the sub though as it is massive!
If you want a wall shaker 4 gaming I would say these will not let you down.
Cons: The speakers came in defective as one of the satellites had a major defect. Snapped, crackled, and popped, would not play hardly at all.
Also the speaker wires are very short and need to be longer for sure.
They are about 2.5-3 feet long if that and are just not long enough to place the system as needed.
Other Thoughts: I think the quality control where these are made could use some major motivation! There is not reason a clearly non-working defective speaker should ever be allowed to leave an assembly line!READ FULL REVIEW
