This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Performed well while it was working
Bios is loaded with features
Board has no gaudy colors, looks good in my case
Good price for a dual GPU motherboard
Wide range of supported CPUs
Cons: Failed much too soon. I've never had a motherboard die on me before the 3 year mark. The heat sinks on the board do tend to get very hot while in use. I nearly burnt myself on one when I was removing my video card after it suddenly shutdown and refused to POST. Wasted many hours testing every component individually to try to get it working again. Even swapped in a new PSU, GPU, CPU, and ram but to no avail.
Other Thoughts: I regret not spending the extra money on a board with better reviews. When I purchased this it had the most features in it's price range but also a mediocre egg rating and some worrisome number of failures in the review section. But I couldn't resist a good deal.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZALMAN LQ-310 Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM
Pros: It keeps my unoverclocked i7-920 15 degrees cooler than the stock heatsink/fan but then again so did my Corsair A50 and I would expect a liquid cooler to do better than a aircooled solution.
Cons: -Fan and waterblock take up a lot of space so make sure it will fit in your case before purchasing.
-The fan is not silent but at this price point you can't really expect an inlucded high-end fan
-The pump is very noisy for a closed loop watercooling system. Even louder than the fan.
-The heatsink that sits atop the cpu feels like cheap plastic and is prone to rattling.
-There are better products to be hat at the full retail price, only purchase when on sale
Other Thoughts: Not worth the price unless deeply discounted.READ FULL REVIEW
