This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: 90 degree sata ports.
Excellent VRM/chipset cooling.
Plenty of I/O headers for any after market additions you might have.
I'm sure there are some other small things I'm missing here, but oh well.
Cons: Vdroop, sweet terrible Vdroop.
Setting the voltage at 1.35 for my fx-6300 it drops below 1.29 during stress testing resulting in multiple cores immediately failing and the eventual BSOD. Medium LLC setting helps alleviate it a bit not letting it drop below 1.344.
I've confirmed this issue with many people I know that own this board, so it's not just me. When overclocking it tends to stutter when it boots. It will power on and start booting and quickly shut off for a second and then continue booting again. Not a ground breaking issue as I don't see any damage resulting from it, but it's a nuisance.
Other Thoughts: Not really a con but a downside. There is only 1 CPU fan header. Basically anyone running an aftermarket air cooler with 2 fans is going to have to route a fan cable somewhere else for another header, or use an ugly looking splitter.READ FULL REVIEW
