Pros: Low-cost, fast, quiet. Newegg's HDD packing was very good; tubes of air totally surrounded it.
Other Thoughts: I installed 2TB of Samsung SSDs among 4 network computers so I had extra WDC Black Caviar HDDs available to put into an external ProBox (USB3). The drives can be hot-plugged and each computer now has its own HDD for back-up. A nice use of extra HDDs. I have been using WDC HDDs for 20 years and all of them have worked fine, no failures. My first 424MB HDD supported a computer-based cash register for over 15 years straight before being retired. My theory of "bad" HDDs is they were either RAIDed and/or the computer did not have a UPS for solid, clean power. I always use a UPS and never RAID, but that's just me.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Business-Class Desktop Switch - Lifetime Warranty (GS108)
Pros: Very solidly built switch. Fast & reliable. Runs cool.
Other Thoughts: Use it for a 4 computer home network with 2 computers at Gbit speeds & 3 AppleTVs at 100T speeds. Everything is running quite snappy :-)READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Upgraded my Asus N73JQ from 6GB to its max at 12GB. G.Skill recommended this part number for my model notebook. A little speedier than the ADATA OEM DIMMs. Nice addition to the 500GB Samsung 830 SSD. Kept the OEM HDD as back-up storage. Had to order a second HDD bracket.
Other Thoughts: I have always had good solid performance with G.Skill. You have to remove the Asus keyboard (5 tabs along the top edge) to access 7 small screws that hold the bottom assess cover on. I always remove the battery & unplug power before working on it. 1 SO-DIMM is under the keyboard and 2 are in the back bay area.READ FULL REVIEW
