Pros: Nice looking board, easy overclocking features... loved the illuminated, isolated sound circuit.. but that's where the fun stopped
Cons: After a night of gaming I turned the system off as I normally do... two days later I attempted to turn the system on... no power, only a blinking light on the onboard power button. I did multiple changes, PS, RAM, Video, unplugged all devices, reconnected and nothing worked. Frustrated I removed the MB, and replaced with my previous MB and everything booted up fine... the Gigabyte MB has failed. I spent an hour waiting on hold and never got to talk with a human, so I sent a tech request into their online tech help... I didn't hear anything for 4 days, and when I did it was like the person responding never even looked at the original tech request where I had listed all my troubleshooting steps. I've purchased another MB from ASRock which is the currently installed board and most likely won't purchase another Gigabyte product if this is the kind of support they give on their products. I'm going to attempt to see if NewEgg will intervene since this board is slightly older than a month... I just didn't feel like waiting for Gigabyte to decide what & when the felt like supporting their product.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Corsair Raptor K50 Gaming Keyboard (CH-9000007-NA)
Pros: Very easy to program macros and key-binds with options too numerous to list.
Cons: Still unable to essentially "move" a key from the main keyboard to the macro area and allow it to act the same. Example with the WASD keys I prefer them on the very edge of the keyboard... hence the macro key area, but when I move them there pressing more than one of those keys causes the other to stop functioning. It makes playing World of Tanks unplayable since you are constantly pressing W, and use A & D to maneuver since pressing either A or D while W is pressed stops all forward movement. I've tried numerous ways to set the key-binds up, but still no joy! I'll figure it out someday!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: I guess coming to the Dark Side would be debated by the Nvidia users, but coming from a 15 year Radeon user it's almost unheard of! I replaced Crossfired 6870's with this single card and I can honestly say... WoW! The card is silent, and powerful as I've run the settings on all games that I currently play to their highest settings without a single glitch. Where I was having constant crashes, and graphic issues with the previous pair which most of the time was only one card because that was the only way I could stabilize the system long enough to play/do anything... this is an absolute dream. Before someone says "he obviously doesn't know pc parts" I'll say the pair of cards were reduced to single cards & swapped, driver versions were changed, drivers were swept, and OS's were reloaded... no changes. This single card absolutely changed my entire thought process about Nvidia... it worked out of the box with the latest drivers from the website (Sorry Gigabyte... I never use boxed
Cons: Absolutely none!
Other Thoughts: I'll continue here! drivers) I did download the card utility from Gigabyte, and found it to be simple and effective. Starting that utility is the ONLY time other than boot that I've heard the fans on the card spin up... They slowly spin back down to default after about 30sec or so. I have a Corsair 600T so there is plenty of room for air circulation so I feel is so inclined I could "crank this puppy up!" without even worrying about thermal problems. Long story short... pick one of these up when they're back in stock... you won't be sorry. I'm currently working on acquiring a second one!READ FULL REVIEW
