Pros: Quiet, effective.
Cons: Instructions need leaps in logic to follow. But I was able to figure it out. If you have ever removed and cleaned a heatsink/fan, it will be no trouble.
Other Thoughts: Used this on an HIS Radeon HD6870 (w/ the blue Fan)
Cleaned GPU surface, used the enclosed 4 mm spacer not the 4.5. Worked fine. The original fan had failed and was causing driver/gpu failures. After install, 2-3 hrs under a load, temps hovering around 65 c . 50 % fan. I did not install the enclosed memory heatsinks, only the gpu cooler. Quiet. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick, cheap fix.
Pros: Great Performance ! Runs everything I throw at it max'd.In Batman Arkham City bench 60fps max 53fps min.Average 58fps. HIS cards have a tendency to run on the hot side, but no issues if you have good airflow. I allow the card to auto adjust fanspeed. @idle 40 degrees, gaming sessions of 2-3 hrs 55-58 degrees. Purchased w/rebate; 5 weeks later my rebate money in hand. Fastest rebate processing EVER. No issues with any aspect of this product. Just have a good foundation of solid power supply w/ case airflow. Fan on GPU is loud over 50%,but with auto adjust I never hear it as it rarely moves above 35%.
I highly recommend this card and company.
Cons: None. Price solid ,Product great.
Other Thoughts: Shorter PCB than most. Maybe include a crossfire bridge.
I purchased HIS because of my past experience w/a Radeon HD5550 passive cooled they produced. I use it in my HTPC. It has been a solid performer for 18-20 months now.Because of the passive cool,it burns hot as well, but it has not affected performance or longevity.
Cons: Cheap plastic . It broke christmas day. My son had it for 3 hours before it broke. The included "mask" was cheap plastic that wasn't even clear. It was heat damaged in production. Absolute trash. Don't waste your money. Newegg does computer hardware well. This item was awful. I wont deviate from comp hardware again.
Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product and Manufacturer.READ FULL REVIEW
