This review is from: XION AXP Alphawing AXP-GF140_WT 140mm Case cooler
Pros: A full year later and these fans are still spinning and providing good cooling in my case. In my set up, they seem to be nearly silent. Other pros:
Match my NZXT Source 210 case color scheme
Don't have ridiculous LED's
Cons: It would be nice if there were extension cables for the motherboard connector, but this is so minor its hardly worth mentioningREAD FULL REVIEW
Pros: This case hit all the things I was looking for in a case. I don't need bells and whistles, and because it is our bedroom, I don't want any fancy lights. It has lots of locations for fans. It can hold a ton of hard drives. Doesn't have any of the needless tool less mounting stuff. And it has decent cable routing through the back. I like the looks, the upside down front USB doesn't bother me and it isn't the dreary black that everyone else is doing. And it is inexpensive.
Cons: If I had to come up with one, I would say that the front panel comes off just a bit too easy for my taste, but nothing I would knock and egg of for. When I say too easy, I mean that if you are trying to pull it out of a cubby by the little cutout on the underside of the front panel, it will likely come off.
Other Thoughts: I now have two of these cases. Bought the first one for my Linux file server as I needed more hard drive space (expanded mirrored raid storage). I liked it so much that when it was time to replace the case for my main pc I really didn't look anywhere else. Now I have two in my custom built desk that look identical.
And no, it isn't a high dollar case replacement. If you are looking for all the bells and whistles, this case won't fit that bill. It's large, convenient, good looking and a bit old school on the inside. But, there are reasons it is $40 and that's because it sticks to the (and does well) things a case needs to do.
I moved the 120mm fan to the front to blow on the hard drives and I have two 140mm fans on order http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835264008
to exhaust the hot air out of the top. These fans match the look of the case, hopefully they will work and be as quiet as advertised.
This review is from: EVERCOOL VC-EC4510M12S-X VGA Cooling Fan
Pros: Works perfectly. Replaced a fan on an old graphics card now running in a server. The old fan no longer spun up and was causing the graphics card to overheat and bring up a BSOD (yes XP) in my wifes old computer. Found this out after building the wife a new computer (oh well). New fan, graphics card runs cool and works perfectly in the server (that was built out of my wifes old computer).
Cons: None so farREAD FULL REVIEW
