5 out of 5 eggs Amazing With Bass Turned Up 01/22/2014

This review is from: Pioneer SP-FS51-LR Floorstanding Speakers Pair

Pros: Absolutely Amazing Sound Quality (Caveat you have to Turn Up your Bass Settings via EQ Otherwise the Woofers Barely Move)
Great Looking (My Opinion)
Quality Construction For the Price

Cons: These Speakers with a Flat EQ are the worst sounding speakers of the bunch because not enough power / signal makes it to the 2 woofers.

However, once you adjust the bass up via EQ these are the best speakers of the bunch.

Other Thoughts: I own a pair of every Speaker in this Series BS21, BS41, C21, and SW8

Tested them all out on a Yamaha HTR 3064

BS21 - Awesome but must have at least 1 Sub preferably 2 Subs (The hardest part is adjusting the Subs Properly to Sound Natural but can be done mostly)

BS41 - Better Than the 21's just sound fuller but still need at least 1 Sub preferably 2 Subs (The hardest part is adjusting the Subs Properly to Sound Natural but can be done mostly)

C21 - You can pick up two of these (open box / sale) for less then the BS41's and use them as bookshelf's and they are everything that is awesome about the 41's but they play louder (I prefer them over the 41's. However still need at least 1 Sub preferably 2 Subs (The hardest part is adjusting the Subs Properly to Sound Natural but can be done mostly)

SW8 - Great Subs for the money and are necessary to help fill out the sound of the above BS21, BS41, and a pair of C21's. However, it feels almost impossible to find just that perfect setting for the subs to blend (Usually can get it done for a particular song / genre). However, when you switch songs or genre's it all goes to garbage and needs to be adjusted again.

Now the FS51's (Everything that is so awesome about the above 41's and C21's but with secret bass. When you plug them in with a flat EQ they sound terrible, absolutely terrible worst sounding speakers, because there is no bass as they are three way X overed, and the bass needs more signal / power to move those 2 Bass Speakers.

However when you adjust your bass settings up via EQ, Jackpot!!! these are the speakers I have been looking for (I am using them on my desk as bookshelfs (I know that sounds crazy but the way my desk is set up it works. Its in basically a cubby hole against the wall with walls on both sides so it works.

Now I have turned off the subs I have all the bass I want out of the FS51's (I listen to everything (Punk, Rock, Metal, Rap, Bass Songs, 80's) And these speakers are IT (No Subs Needed in a 12' x 15' Room) The Subs actually make it sound worse because of the problem in having to adjust them to try to make the sound, sound connected to the speakers.

Thank you A. Jones, I cannot believe how amazing these speakers sound /quality construction at a buck and half.

Therefore, in my opinion If you have the room the BS51's between a buck and two bucks cannot be beat. They are absolutely amazing. Sound is amazing and there is enough bass to not need a subwoofer unless you are a bass head, but then the problem comes in that the sub gives you more bass which is awesome but the sound quality goes down in that you get a slight disconnected sound between the speakers and sub unless you keep messing with the settings.

Otherwise, any pair of the above BS21's BS41's or C21's with at least 1 SW8 is awesome but you have to keep adjusting the Bass Setting / Sub Setting to keep the sound from sounding slightly disconnected from the speakers when you change songs / ge

Corsair Obsidian Series 900D CC-9011022-WW Black Aluminum ATX Super Tower Computer Case

3 out of 5 eggs Wanted to Love this Case So Bad 09/04/2013

This review is from: Corsair Obsidian Series 900D CC-9011022-WW Black Aluminum ATX Super Tower Computer Case

Pros: Massive
Heavy
Thick Aluminum (Almost All Aluminum Construction)
Removable Font Piece Rather than a Door to create a clean look
All Black

Cons: Not all Aluminum / Metal (So dissapoinited)
Too Many Options (Makes it Messy / air flow conflicts if you try to fully load the case
Optical Drive Destroys the Look (should have an aluminum drive bay cover to preserve the look)

Other Thoughts: Corsair 900D (1 Week) The Beast (Very Nice with Some issues)
1) Awesomely Large, Heavy, Looks like Full Aluminum/ metal Construction but its not) (Sides of the front intake and where the front filter snap into (are plastic - and some other spots)(Although hidden still disappointing for the price and from the marketing materials)
2) placing an optical drive or the like within the case destroys the look
3) too many airflow paths all conflicting
4) if you have a Evga 4 Way Sli Motherboard and using slot 7 with a VGA using 3 slots because of cooling (you cant because it hits the upright PSU regardless of PSU slot (the final straw for me)

I wanted to love this case but just couldn't

Ended up with a Lian Li A76 with 11 expansion slots and am very happy with it (Good Layout, Large, All Aluminum, Looks Fantastic, has some issues but IMHO better than the the 900D)

HUMBLE SUGGESTION / THOUGHTS TO CORSAIR. The 900D trys to do to much 1) have two cases one catered for Air Cooling and one catered for Water Cooling. 2) All Aluminum Construction please 3) Optical drives or the like should not destroy the aesthetics. 4) 11+ expansion slots 5) Have airflow flow with out conflicts when fully loaded with fans

5 out of 5 eggs Best Case to Date (IMHO) 09/04/2013

This review is from: LIAN LI PC-A76 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: All Aluminum Construction
Nice Spacious Layout
All Black
Clean Look / Looks even better in person
Side Panels Are Thick Enough (many say too thin, I disagree, or maybe lian li thicken them up because mine do not feel flimsy or thin)
11 Expansion Slots
Side Positioned HDD are better than front to back with the additional cages needed

Cons: 1) Needs additional hooks on back side for better cable management
2) Rubber Grommets fall out when running cables
3) Needs hooks or screw holes to accept (3) x 140mm fans on back side of HDD Cage Tower or (4) x 120mm fans. [ I solved this by zip tieing (4) 120 mm fans together and then zip tieing the the top fan to the Optical Drive slot openings - for push / pull HDD configuration

Other Thoughts: I am very particular about my cases, I am looking for a clean look with quality construction and a good layout.

Prior to settling on this case I owned

Thermaltake Kandalf (1 Year) (the doors were stupid and blocked air flow, disliked the front to back HDD = pain to swap + wires in sight)

Cooler Master Stacker 810 (3 Years) (Loved Dual Exhaust, Good Size, Wished it was all Aluminum, had to paint the interior, Quality Construction, HDD Cage suffers similar to TT. Only reason had to upgrade is because not enough expansion slots and no ability for slot 7 to have a hang over card

Rosewill BLACKHAWK-ULTRA (2 Days) - Ugly in person, Cheap plastic, so so construction, a lower level case all around (suggest spending a little extra money for something better)

Corsair 900D (1 Week) The Beast (Very Nice with Some issues)
1) Awesomely Large, Heavy, Looks like Full Aluminum/ metal Construction but its not) (Sides of the front intake and where the front filter snap into (are plastic) (Although hidden still disappointing)
