Pros: I highly recommend this board. I work for a professional design firm, and over the years have also become the de facto builder/keeper of the company's CADD workstations and administrative computers. I purchased this board to build a new word- processing/graphics machine in an old Lian Li ATX case that formerly housed an aging LGA 777/955X/Windows XP system which was lagging behind the curve. Among the features I look for in a motherboard are functionality, stability, durability, simplicity, and the capacity to upgrade as requirements change – essentially a computer that will run a variety of productivity applications all day every day, over time, without calling attention to itself. The Gigabyte Z87-DS3H seems meet all these criteria in a simple straightforward manner.
The Z87-DS3H has an ATX form factor, but the layout is compact and efficient, resulting in a board that is a full 1-1/2” narrower than the board it replaced, leaving lots of breathing room in the case. This system went together easily and quickly, without a hitch. Unlike another reviewer, I found no issues when installing a pair of prior-approved memory modules – it should be noted that the DDR3 memory slots #1 and #2 are not directly adjacent to each other (slot #3 is between them) – just as described in the User's Manual. All the other components and connections installed without any issues. The board's spec.s are well-suited to any contemporary mainstream system, including the on-board graphics and audio – for a more specialized setup for higher-end systems, there's adequate room for upgrade and expansion. The UEFI “Dashboard” is a little gimmicky for my own taste, but it works fine (and there's the option to switch to a “Classic” BIOS for us stodgier types).
Other Thoughts: Don't let a few “bad eggs” dissuade you from considering this board. They quit using old Scandinavian craftsmen to solder hand-made parts onto circuit boards a long time ago, and any mass-produced equipment will be prone to a few units here and there that mis-fire. This is a well-conceived board with excellent spec.s from a reputable company, and I anticipate having it around as a daily workhorse for a long time yet to come.READ FULL REVIEW

Pros: Installed without a hitch, performance has been rock solid, fast, cool. Easiest system I’ve built to date. For my purposes, has the best set of available features, performance, expandability and reliability of all the P35 boards currently out there. Edge-mounted SATA headers are not a problem in my Chenming case, and I believe they’re meant to overcome conflicts with large graphics cards on other boards.
Cons: Totally ugly box and screen logo on booting. Puleeeze! Some of us like to think of our computers as technologically-advanced professional machines. Would have preferred a plain-brown box to this one... Rebate expires quickly, before I had time to fully assemble and test my system.

Pros: Outstanding performance, even better than I anticipated. Keeps my E6750 CPU very cool, 18C at idle, 22C at normal usage, even with fan turned down to about 1500 rpm for quiet operation. The fan-shaped heatpipes and fins allow it to install within the board components and heatsinks, while maximizing the surface areas of the fins.
Cons: As others have mentioned, the fan speed control wires are too short to mount anywhere accessible -- have to shut down and open up the case to adjust. However, now that I've found a suitable sound/performance speed, I hope to just leave it alone. Instructions could be more detailed and explicit.
Other Thoughts: The size of this unit requires some care and patience to install, but is well worth the extra effort. Note that the mast with LEDs supporting the fan is on the exhaust side of the fan. The copper fins extend about 5-3/4" above the MB surface, and at the widest point about 3" to either side of the CPU centerline (on my abit IP35 Pro approx. 1/2" past the top edge of the board). Fits easily within the board's heatsinks and in my CHENMING 601AEBL-U-W case. I used some leftover Zalman ZM-STG1 "Super Thermal Grease" which has, from my experience, the best heat conductive properties.READ FULL REVIEW
