Ugly, but awesome

37" 720p LCD HDTV
37" 720p LCD HDTV

Pros: Am using with a media center PC. Great picture - very bright and, once calibrated, great contrast and color. The sound is awesome - definitely a viable alternative to a home theater. You're able to hear dialog clearly w/out having the rest of the sound be too loud (e.g., explosions) (it's worth trying out the different sound presets). It starts up fast and has lots of inputs - great price.

Cons: The main reason its 4 stars and not 5 is that it's ugly - the speakers on the side add a lot of width and look odd compared to other panel TVs. They're detachable, but don't come w/ any sort of separate mount and, after trying different positions, really do sound best in their default position. Not sure what could be done about this, and I personally don't care, but everyone else that sees it remarks on how ugly it is. Documentation could be better re: setup as a PC monitor.

Overall Review: The PC resolution was tricky - I'm still not 100% happy w/ it (the Media Center looks great, desktop is a little wonky). I tried all the inputs (including a DV to HDMI connector); ended up using the VGA input. The HDMI and other inputs had wonky resolutions and refresh rates. Also, I couldn't get the sound to input from the PC to the TV w/ the HDMI plugged in, even though there are sound inputs next the HDMI port (the TV manual implies you can input sound along w/ the HDMI input). The VGA input just worked, , and there's a calibration procedure in Media Center setup menu that's absolutely worth doing.
