Pros: I bought this motherboard to go with my phenom 2 x4 965, and a sapphire 7770. using kingston 1600mhz ram, i am able to overclock the cpu up to 3.9 ghz, and the cpu-nb up to 2600 mhz. all around its a good deal, and can support a lot. this is the only 970 board that can properly handle sli and crossfire.
Cons: The bios is a wreck, at first. mine shipped with a beta bios, and the msi live update is of no use, it tells me that its up to date. i had to dig through some thick shill to get the latest bios, then poof. it worked amazing.
Other Thoughts: ALERT ANYONE BUYING THIS IN THE US. The msi website will not direct you to the bios file, but will rather direct you to the msi live update, which is so worthless, msi forum mods recommend against it. You will need to go to the msi global site NOT THE NORTH AMERICA ONE. There in the drivers and downloads you will find a bios file. the are hoops i have seen countless times.READ FULL REVIEW
Other Thoughts: I just wanted to point out, even though this motherboard is listed at being a micro ATX, it looks as though it will fit the Mini B-TX form factor. Basically it will fit in any itx case with 2 pci slots on the back. I'm judging this by its physical size, not by its specs. Although if you are trying to make an htpc computer with minimal specs, this might just be what you need.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: The best hardware, is hardware you don't notice. It does its job, and never asks questions. I get full, consistent speeds from centurylink, And I have never had a drop in service. While I love the service, I come from a cable background. My speeds are down about 3Mbps, and ping is up 25ms.
Cons: It's invisible. To me at least. I cannot access the web-ui, unless I connect it straight to a computer. This may be a network configuration problem on my end, though I'm not certain. Not worth docking an egg over something if I'm not certain whether it's the device, or user error. People should do some research before claiming that it outright doesn't work. I'm going to guess a lot of RMA's come from someone who doesn't know how to set a static IP in Windows 7.
Other Thoughts: Be weary that this is a dumb device. It's only a modem. No routing, no firewall, no pppoe. This device assumes you have the rest. So before complaining that you can't connect, or get it to work in any way shape or form, just remember that you can't expect much of something that is ONLY A MODEM. If you want an all in one solution, Newegg sell the exact same model with a router included.READ FULL REVIEW
