OCZ Vertex Plus R2 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Fast easy to install. Ran great while it ran.

Cons: Died after 19 months. System crashed one day and it would not boot. It couldn't see the drive. Neither could 2 other systems. I'll look into warranty.

Other Thoughts: Just glad I backed up the drive to an external disk 4 days ago. I'll look into the 3 year warranty.

TP-Link TL-R860 8-Port Cable/DSL Router 1 x 10/100Mbps WAN Ports 8 x 10/100Mbps LAN Ports
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Easy setup.

Cons: Download speed doesn't get above 51 Mbps. Without router, speeds were 109 down and 37 up. With the router speeds were 51 down and 37 up.

Other Thoughts: I bought it to replace a d-link that was getting 90 down and 10 up. TP-Link suggested that I RMA it. I paid $27 for it and the return shipping is going to be $12. If the next one doesn't work, it will cost me a total of $24 shipping and I will have no router. I will keep it as a spare as it works well up to that speed.

Vantec 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: easy to use

Cons: Died.

Other Thoughts: It worked for a short time and got me out of a jam so it was worth it.
It died one day and I don't have any idea why or when.
I plug it into my computers, with no drive connected to it, and my computers all say "USB device not recognized". I tried it with a Win 7 with USB 3.0 installed and an XP with USB 3.0 installed and one running XP with usb 1/2.0. None would recognize it. Tried it with a drive connected also and got same results.
I assume it is dead now.
