Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Good build quality, USB 3.0, good price.

Cons: You'll void your warranty if you plan on cracking open the external enclosure to get at the internal drive.

Other Thoughts: I plan on tearing this open for the internal drive for use in an HTPC. I've always thought its stupid that the equivalent internal drive is more expensive than the external drive. It's almost like external enclosures are becoming an additional layer of packaging these days.

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 70SB088600002-8 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Card

  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: I've always been skeptical when it comes to sound cards. I never really saw the purpose of upgrading from onboard. Many people say that onboard has become so advanced these days, that you can't really tell the difference. However, after taking the plunge, i'm never going back. The sound quality is just so much clearer and sharper than onboard. You can really tell the difference when you play around with the settings. I'm very happy I decided to go with it. The re-certified price just made the deal even sweeter.

Cons: Drivers can be a pain. They also come pre-packaged with tons of bloatware. Just make sure you take your time when installing the drivers, and you'll be able to avoid all the bloat pretty easily. Also a while back I was having issues where the drivers wouldn't load correctly on boot, and I would have to re-boot to get sound to work. I just re-installed the drivers and the issue went away.

Other Thoughts: The white LED on it looked horrible in my case. To fix it I just unscrewed the metal shielding and put a small piece of electrical tape over the LED's, and put the shielding back on. Now it looks great.

Linkworld Electronic LLC FAN-9 90mm Case cooler

5 out of 5 eggs Works fine 02/29/2012

This review is from: Linkworld Electronic LLC FAN-9 90mm Case cooler

Pros: Moves a lot of air, very cheap.

Cons: For those who care, one of them makes a kind of scratching noise, and they're all kinda loud

Other Thoughts: Bought 3 of them for some workstations in a server room. Didn't knock off any eggs because it was cheap, and the blade racks drown out the noise of these fans anyway.
