XFX Double Dissipation Radeon R9 290X DirectX 11.2 R9-290X-EDFD 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: When the cards work the 290x is a beast

Cons: Had my First card died on me in about 60 days Overheaded all the time confirmed by testing in 3 different working systems. Did the RMA and paid shipping, XFX Mark says card tested fine but sent new card anyways . New card comes and all is well and does not overheat like the first card did. 20 days later and now the replacement has Died again confirmed dead by testing in my other known working systems and this time a local repair shop. Now to RMA another card. This time XFX is paying shipping. XFX Mark still says all 3 of my other systems have either bad mobo's or PSU's though they all work with HD7950's and GTX465's

Pros: when it works its great. quiet fan and makes for easy and clean install. Great Customer service So Far.

Cons: PC Fails to post on restart's but works fine from cold boot. Called tech support and we found that the 3.3V was not stable.

Other Thoughts: Waiting for Advanced RMA approval. Will update review when i get the new psu.

SilenX IXN-40C Copper Chipset Cooler

3 out of 5 eggs not bad on AMD APU 07/26/2013

This review is from: SilenX IXN-40C Copper Chipset Cooler

Pros: big copper cooler, works/Fits AMD E-350 Biostar delux mobo.

Cons: Fan is bad. makes very annoying rattle sound. a good fan will run around 10-15$ driving the cost up 2x. the cooling is not as good as i expected as the mounting is not very robust. With new Fan, Teflon Nuts and bolts instead of weak springs and good thermal compound the cooler is much Much better but cost much more at that point.
