This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
Pros: Cools even my AMD 9590 better than H20 from C*****.
Evo Cooled my intell rig before that using the same hardware and I didnt have to go looking for the bits that most coolers use for one or the other, very handy.
Cons: Mine did not come with brackets for push pull, only one set for one fan.
Had to pull the board from the case to install the Evo backplate.
Cannot seem to locate extra brackets on CM www for 2 fans.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded my Amd 8150 to 9590 and thought the h20 unit that cooled the 8150 would be sufficient, boy was I wrong !! 160F wrong ! Yes h20 was installed correctly ( thermal paste was where it should be and ambient temps were 71' f ) which i verified when I removed it to put on the Evo that I had on old lga 1336. With the Evo , Temps were exactly where they should be 98' f and less and have stayed there this last week. I do have excellent airflow in through and out. Prime testing pulled the temps up 131' f but nothing approaching the 160 I had when I first booted up the 9590 with Co**** h20. After reading that this beast really needed a High end cooling solution I have been very happy with this Evo 212.
I have a huge case so size was not a problem but do measure to be sure. I had no problems with ram impingement on Sabretooth 990fx Gen 2
Pros: Charges anything rapidly.
I was really happy to reduce wall wort clutter.
Cons: Stopped working after 6 months
Other Thoughts: I bought this on the open box but still that shouldn't affect the quality.
Charged both house phones, Nook and friends devices that dropped by effortlessly. The whole thing just stopped working today and researching Anker site I find that they only warranty it if you bought it " Prime " which is not Premier. Same price as *prime* so that's where I will get the next one. Seems that all of these kind of devices have problems so it's a cr*p shoot. LOL cant say cr A p
I did email Anker support so I will update this if they respond affirmatively.
