Fractal Design Core1100 (FD-CA-CORE-1100-BL) Black MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case
  • Owned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Looks sleek, included quality fan, very good power button as seen on other Fractal Design cases

Cons: I want to say I didn't expect too much from this case, being it's a budget case. Cable management is bad, but as I said, it's a budget case. I built both in this and a Core 1000 case, and Fractal Design REALLY went backwards with this one. Why?

HDD mounting is terrible. The HDD has to be mounted so the connectors are facing the FRONT of the case. Which means you get 1cm of space to get cables to it. Paired with the Corsair CX 430 power supply, forget daisy chaining SATA power for 2 drives. I awkwardly put the HDD in the bottom spot and awkwardly mounted my SSD. It works, but it's messy, inconvenient, and very poorly designed. Logic dictates the SATA connectors on the drives should be closer to the INSIDE of the case, so I'm not awkwardly feeding cables to the front panel. The L faces up too so you have to use the end power connector if it's not angled, otherwise it'll bulge out of the case and you won't be putting the door back on. Cable management is near unusable in this case. Certainly a step down from the Core 1000 with drives.

The front panel is on insanely tight and taking it off makes me feel like I'm going to destroy the pins.

They need to get rid of the side fan slot, or at least get some filter over it. I can just sense lots of dust buildup from that.

Other Thoughts: I would stay far away from this case. Go for the older Core 1000 or get an NZXT Source 210. I've built in the Define R4, Core 1000 and this, and this has been more worst experience with Fractal Design products, and my worst experience with any computer case in generaly

MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G GeForce GTX 970 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Fast, great price range, gorgeous, the MSI logo in white is my favorite part, I'm so glad they added that to the look along with the red accents, the fans spinning completely down is awesome too

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I still have troubles with Crysis 3...some people reported 60fps but I haven't been able to game gobs to go further into the game where people said they started seeing 60+. With everything utterly maxed out I think I got in the 50s on average in Farcry 3. Only played 10 minutes though but this card fits the bill. My last card (660Ti) was MSI and I'm happy I bought MSI again, it's a great brandy. I haven't seen this card go about 64C even running totally maxed out.

I'm a bit of a silence freak so hearing the fans not turning on on some of these new Maxwell cards got me very excited! Noo regrets

Pros: Modular, Hybrid/Normal switch is cool for different settings, all black cables, and the packaging was so nice that I felt a little spoiled getting just nice packaging

Cons: For the first 3 days there was some super annoying squealing coming from the PSU, especially when I used the wheel on my mouse (I so wish I knew what caused this), but after that it went away, which is what I expected. I figured it would just need a break in period and my hunch was right!

Other Thoughts: Aside from the annoying sounds (quiet yet audible enough to be frustrating), this is a great PSU. I would have been a bit worried if the sounds were persistent but it doesn't happen anymore and just sits there acting like it should. I'm not worried about it dying on me
