Pros: Fast, quiet, reliable brand and line in my experience
Other Thoughts: I use this in an external enclosure connected via eSATA. I got this just over a month ago and my use varies from no use at all for a few days to 12-24 hours running 100% processing or transferring video files. I have then entire drive as a single partition. Very quiet, seems cool but my enclosure has a fan so hard to say. I waited a month to post since almost all of my past HDD failures occurred prior to being one month old.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SYBA Model SY-CAB-F4 6 ft. IEEE 1394a 4-pin to 4-pin Firewire cable
Pros: - Cheap. Roly moly this would have been $40 6 years ago.
- Works fine
Cons: - very snug fit on the camera, but very carefully got it in there. Just be gentle on your hardware.
Other Thoughts: I used this to tranfer video from my camcorder (uses tapes, records digitally, I forget the format name) to my laptop. The cable that came witht he camera has a "normal" sized firewire connection that works on my PC but the laptop has a teeny connection just like the camera. Works fine dumping video to the laptop, I am able to control the camera via the laptop software just like I was using the regular cable.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Lots of pros compared to my past external kits.
- No internal cables - An SATA drive slides in and clicks into the power and data connectors.
- Fan keeps the innards cool.
- It looks good. Not too techie, not too generic.
- Some assembly required. It feels like I made something by inserting my own HDD. Just enough geek factor.
Cons: No pads on the bottom. A minor issue and expected after reading reviews. Solved by putting on some self-stick pads I had extra from replacing the door pads on some kitchen cabinets. Just enough soft and stick to keep it in place on top of my computer case but not immobile.
Other Thoughts: Great product, well made. Rosewill is not known for... ahem.. the high end stuff but this is very well made. Fit and finish are spot on. If you can replace an internal hard drive you can assemble this and take credit for "building it"! Thanks Newegg and all other reviewers - I knew exactly what I was getting.READ FULL REVIEW
