This review is from: WD My Book 2TB USB 3.0/USB 2.0 3.5" External Hard Drive WDBFJK0020HBK-NESN
Pros: Plenty of space.
Cons: Requires a power adapter, but I knew this going in.
Other Thoughts: Did what I needed it to do, which was back up an ESXi server. Even after that, it's got plenty of space for music and software installers.
Can't say much about the included software, but the diagnostics app worked fine. Disk security and backup software were also included. All were outdated, but new versions were available on WD's website.
This review is from: powercom KIN-1000AP 1000 VA 600 Watts 5 Outlets UPS
Pros: Gets very good run time for the price. I had an outage the other day. It carried my home ESXi server for 30 minutes and the battery wasn't low when the software finally shut down the server.
The UPSMON software can be set up to run custom tasks via batch files before shutting down when the power failure timer runs out, which made it easy to handle ESXi.
The unit is rather plain in appearance, but very well built. All steel except the front face...a stark contrast to the all-plastic case often found on others.
Cons: Batteries can be a pain to replace due to design.
Combination of battery and steel case make it rather heavy, but then how often do you move it?
Other Thoughts: This is my second one. I posted a review on my first one a year or so ago when I found out Newegg sold them (that unit is 8 years old this year, still going strong although it's due for batteries again).
With the number of power outages we get here, I won't be surprised if I find a reason to buy a third one at some point.
I also can't believe they still make the exact same unit after so many years. My new one and old one are identical in every respect despite the 8 year span between purchases. Quality product then, quality product now. Others seem to continually find ways to cheapen the design.
This review is from: Disposable Compressed Gas Duster, 10 oz, 2/Pk
Pros: Does what it's supposed to: Blows zero-moisture gas at things that don't like moisture.
Other Thoughts: I wish these were cheaper. I go through several of them a year since I fix PCs as a side job.READ FULL REVIEW
