RAIJINTEK AIDOS BLACK, 4pcs 6mm Heat-pipe, 9225mm PWM fan, Compact size CUP cooler, Multiple mounting kits for INtel & AMD, Easy installation and user friendly
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: My Alienware water cooler took a dive and I decided to go with air cool. This heatsink comes with 4 heat pipes with direct contact to provide very good heat dissipation. The pipes are press fit into a thick block of aluminum. My hot 1st gen core i7 gets from 40 to 52 under load. It performed better then the $800 custom water cooler that it replaced. Plenty of room to overclock if you do that sort of stuff.

Cons: You need to remove the motherboard to install the back plate adapter but the rest is easy enough to do. Just follow the diagrams.

Other Thoughts: There are heatsinks with 2 or 3 pipes. Why not select the ones that use 4 pipes. This cooler is rated for a 130w heater and it does the job well. Just think what it can do for a 3rd or 4th gen core i5 or i7.

Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/240G 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Prices have come down for reasonable 240GB SSD. Speed is unmatched and response time for programs are near instant.

Cons: Price and small drive capacity could force most to still use standard drives for increased storage.

Other Thoughts: This is the way computing is meant to be. Makes slow computers way faster and high end systems a dream.

XYZprinting daVinci 1.0 3D Printer
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

5 out of 5 eggs A great 3D grinter for the price 09/11/2014

This review is from: XYZprinting daVinci 1.0 3D Printer

Pros: Sub $500 dollar printer. Free shipping on this 50lb beast! Heated bed. Self calibrating. Nozel cleaner. Built in memory card, just press print then unteather USB. Comes with a full cartridge in white. Can use ABS and PLA. Easy to mod if you want to. Factory mass produced quality. Decent prints so far. Very happy.(Newegg threw in another free cartridge on my deal)

Cons: Well, you sortof have to buy into the XYZ propriatary cartridge. For around $30 you get 600 grams instead of the 1000 gram spools available for the same price. Cost is 40% more, but if that is a sticking point there are plenty of mods or simple hacks available to use regular spools. So, not really a big con there.

Other Thoughts: I've been researching so many 3D printers, but this was my choice to date. Price is great and comparable to $2000+ models. The shipping box is really big and packed like a beast. Look for a badge on the outside of the box that indicates if was shipped upside down. Mine was, it noted a red warning but it still came out perfect.
