Pros: A perfect fit and only takes a few minutes to install. Should keep things a few degrees cooler and that will extend product life. Really makes the card feel solid in your hands.
Cons: A shame not all cards in this $300 price range have it as stock item and bolted on already. I got it free and don't mind the assembly.
Other Thoughts: Great item. Worth considering even if it did not come with the unit. Consider it insurance for when you forget to blow out the dust from the clogged heatsink in after a year or two.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Price is amazing for the performance. 4 heat pipes with direct contact to the CPU provide great heat dissipation. From a "monstrous" water cooled first generation Core i7 room heater, this is way more compact and has a steady 38c temp and 50c under gaming and video load. Large fan is quiet and pushes more air at lower RPM.
Cons: The heatsink surface contacting the CPU is not mirror polished. Doing so could drop 2-3c, but overall this is insignificant. Had some fuss assembling the fan with those rubber anchors, but assembled fine.
Other Thoughts: It's a tall fan, so tower cases only. Double check small form and ITX cases for clearance. Forget slim systems.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: My Alienware water cooler took a dive and I decided to go with air cool. This heatsink comes with 4 heat pipes with direct contact to provide very good heat dissipation. The pipes are press fit into a thick block of aluminum. My hot 1st gen core i7 gets from 40 to 52 under load. It performed better then the $800 custom water cooler that it replaced. Plenty of room to overclock if you do that sort of stuff.
Cons: You need to remove the motherboard to install the back plate adapter but the rest is easy enough to do. Just follow the diagrams.
Other Thoughts: There are heatsinks with 2 or 3 pipes. Why not select the ones that use 4 pipes. This cooler is rated for a 130w heater and it does the job well. Just think what it can do for a 3rd or 4th gen core i5 or i7.READ FULL REVIEW
