This review is from: LOGISYS Computer PS550E12 550W ATX12V Power Supply
Pros: Cheap and silent.
First one still running after 3 months (not a gaming PC)
That's it for the PROS.
Cons: Second one blew after 6 or 7 times using it. Sparks came out of the back of the computer and the thing died.
Funny thing is I went through all 14 pages of reviews and even with all those bad reviews I never saw any comments from the Logisys people.
Pros: Good looking board - Nice features - Easy to work with -
Worked very well for 12 months
Cons: After 12 months will not post past the Asus Logo - Screen goes blank - Tried 2 other graphics cards, another PSU, other memory sticks, no luck. I go into the BIOS but can not get passed the first screen.
Updated BIOS with USB FLASHBACK feature which works nice. BIOS was version 1503 - Is now version 2501.
Other Thoughts: North bridge gets so hot I can't even touch it. I suspect this is where the problem comes from.
Sent a RMA request. Got an answer after 48 hours asking me if I tried the USB FLAHSBACK BUTTON.
I answered the question and got an automatic answer that I would hear from Asus within 48 hours (again).
But it has been 72 hours and I did not hear from them.
What's the holdup? With all the horror stories I read on the web about Asus RMA service what am I supposed to think? Should I buy something else or still wait for the RMA? This is not my first build. I have been working with computers for the past 32 years.
I still give 5 eggs to Newegg. Nor their fault if Asus has bad service. I give 0 eggs to Asus.
This review is from: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 HDMI USB 3.0 uATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Nice board with many features - Works nice with Win XP -
Fair price - Upgrading to USB 3.0 - 4 memory slots -
Cons: Did not get along with Win 7 - Install stopped about halfway - Got a BSOD - Unplugged everything and kept only the basics - Took 3 installs to get it working - Still get BSOD's and reboot - Suddenly freezes - Replaced the HDD with a new one - Useless expense since I have the same problem - Everything in that machine worked nice with a Biostar mainboard including the Win7 PRO - I am asking for a refund - Already ordered a Gigabyte mainboard
with about the same features -
Other Thoughts: Maybe I was out of luck - ASUS used to be real goodREAD FULL REVIEW
