SeaSonic SS-1050XP3 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: -Big power
-Seasonic brand (I thought anyway)

Cons: I have a high-end rig that I have custom water-cooled because I wanted it silent. I bought this because I thought it was the perfect complement to that, and I have had great success with Seasonic in the past. How disappointed I have been to learn that it is far and away the loudest component of my whole system. Even in hybrid mode, the fan will ramp up even when sitting at idle on the desktop. I even moved its location to make sure it was getting sufficient ventilation, and it's the same thing. My rig is dead silent except for this thing. This thing is louder when I am idling than the rest of my whole rig is when gaming.

Incredibly disappointed by this product.

Pros: Very quiet at anything up to about 90% of full load.

Cons: 3-pin. A little pricey for a 3-pin fan but worth it ultimately.

3 out of 5 eggs UPlay 08/26/2013

This review is from: NVIDIA Gift Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist

Pros: Free game. Got this through another retailer.

Cons: UPlay required. This is not a Steam game, but instead requires UPlay. That is fine for some, but I did not want and ended up reselling for much less than MSRP.
