USB 2.0 Wireless Gaming Controller Receiver Adapter For Xbox 360 Xbox360
  • Verified Owner

5 out of 5 eggs Ooops, it works, my fault 04/10/2013

This review is from: USB 2.0 Wireless Gaming Controller Receiver Adapter For Xbox 360 Xbox360

Pros: It syncs now! Wish I could delete/edit my prior review, or maybe I can once it posts. Anyway, disregard the 1 egg review I just wrote if here.

I WAS PRESSING THE WRONG BUTTON ON THE CONTROLLER. My kids did the sync with the Xbox so I never knew. There is a small sync button in the front of the control, that's what you need to press, not the big one on top that lights up (need to press that first to turn on, then the tiny sync button).

Cons: PBKAC... problem between keyboard and chair :)

Other Thoughts: Only been using for 10 minutes, but so far works great.

USB 2.0 Wireless Gaming Controller Receiver Adapter For Xbox 360 Xbox360

Pros: Didn't waste too much money, since this was cheap.

Cons: Driver on CD is 32-bit only, so followed online instructions to install the driver from Microsoft. After that device shows up as "Xbox Wireless Receiver for Windows" correctly in device manager. Press button on device so that green light starts flashing, press button on control so it also starts flashing... they just flash, never connect/sync. Have 2 xbox controls, both genuine. Have tried all 8 USB 2.0 ports on my PC and the both USB 3.0 also. Disconnected power from actual xbox and all wireless devices in my house. NOTHING WORKS!

Other Thoughts: Going to just buy a wireless game controller for my PC. I should have known better -- there is a reason Newegg doesn't sale these directly and why none of the big box retail stores carry them in the store. "online only" means "good luck".

TOSHIBA Canvio 3.0 500GB USB 3.0 2.5
  • Owned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Good drive, and Toshiba is great with laptops so makes sense they are good with portable drives.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: To the person who was upset over the drive size. You need to understand that ALL harddrives, internal/external/etc, are this way. A drive that claims 500GB means it has 500 billion bytes. They all take the term giga-byte to mean 1 billion bytes. Windows (and maybe other OSs too) just happens to calculate a giga-byte in a different way. Windows says 1 giga-byte is 1024*1024*1024. That is, 1 KB in Windows doesn't equal 1,000 bytes, it equals 1,024 bytes. So 1 MB isn't 1 million bytes it is 1024*1024, etc and so on. 500 billion bytes = 465.66 GB in the Windows world, so I'm sure your drive is in fact 500 billion bytes. You can't really blame the drive manufactures for different computer opperating systems calculating the lose "GB" term in different ways.
