Pros: Had a small footprint and worked well at first. Looks neat.
Cons: After two months of use, I found that my PC would not get past POST. After a thorough process of elimination, I found that removing this card reader would fix the issue. Other adapters and external drives worked fine. Putting this adapter back broke POST again. There were no hardware changes or BIOS updates that I can think would have led this to happen. For the first two months I could boot the PC with no issue while this reader was connected. A month after this and the reader can't read or write SD cards anymore. During extended reads/writes (more than 10 seconds), Linux will report that the USB device was disconnected and then the reader will be assigned a new device node. At first I thought it was a bad SD Card, so I grabbed another and found the same results. Then I used a different brand reader, and it resulted in much faster transfers and no disconnects. Something's definitely wrong with this reader, I'm not sure if it's a design issue or if I got a bad reader.READ FULL REVIEW

Pros: As a basic cable or for charging it seems to work nicely.
Cons: I originally purchased this as part of a project. This connected to a temperature probe. The computer controlled devices via electromagnetic relays based on the readings - most of the devices have a inductive load. When using this cable, it would drop the data connection almost every time a relay was actuated. (You could see the OS claim the USB device was disconnected, then it would quickly reconnect). I could also replicate the issue by simply (un)plugging power to the nearby motors. Long story short, I was using the wrong cable for the job. I replaced it with a USB cable that had Ferrite beads on it - no more interference issues.
Other Thoughts: I still rate the cable highly. For a basic, cheap cable - it gets the job done. For my more sensitive application, I shouldn't have settled. This is more my fault than the cable's.READ FULL REVIEW
