Pros: Still working as new two years later.
Other Thoughts: It is memory. I don't think there is a lot to write about. You can read the specs and either it works or it doesn't. I my case all I can say is I installed it two years ago and today it is still working fine. That is all anyone can ask for.READ FULL REVIEW
Other Thoughts: I wrote a review a few slots down about needing to do an RMA after about 1 1/2 years of use. I wish I could just edit that review to update it but newegg won't allow that.
Anyway, the RMA process is very easy and straight forward. You have the option to send yours in first then have one sent back at no charge or have them send one out right away with a hold on your credit card for the full price until they get yours in. The one thing I didn't think about was the cost to send it back. It came up to $18.00 for me which if they fail very often would make getting a more reliable one cheaper, but I have no reason to think they will keep failing.
Another point is that the replacement unit has no warranty of its own. What I mean by that is that if your original unit has a 3 year warranty and it fails with one week left and then if that replacement fails in two weeks later you are out of luck. I would think they would give you at least a 90 day warranty on the replacement if the original warranty runs out before that but they don't. I guess this is to prevent people from just continually swapping them out forever. So your only guarantee is that you will be able to get a functional unit during the warranty period but when it runs out your are done. It may make sense to spend a bit more for the 5 year warranty.
Pros: Worked good when it worked.
Cons: Failed after about 2.5 years. The Asus motherboard just started to shut down randomly stating, " the computer was shut down to protect it from power surges". This has happened twice in about a week. No storms or unusual activity and I have never seen this message before so I assume the power supply is on its way out.
I will see how the warranty process works and post another review on how that goes.
