This review is from: Fractal Design Define R5 FD-CA-DEF-R5-BK Black Computer Case
Pros: Looks nice coming out of the box. Seems very well constructed.
Cons: Oh where to start. If you have anything more serious than an i5, i'd stay away. The case is definitely quiet, but doesn't have enough airflow to cool a haswell-e on air. Ok, so you grab an AIO. The case has very limited AIO support. Fitting any kind of 280mm radiator in this thing is NOT easy. The only place it will fit without modification is on the top. Even then, you lose at least 1 5.25" drive bay and the removal of the top panels just leaves a very ugly hexagonal mesh design with NO filtration. The front panel wires are exposed through the mesh.
Other Thoughts: I'm disappointed in Fractal. They are usually spot on with design. I loved my Arc Midi. If you have a basic system without anything too serious (like a high end GPU or CPU, you should be fine with this case. Anything that pumps out heat or requires better cooling, I'd steer clear.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 04G-P4-2982-KR 4GB SC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card
Pros: Card is very well made, the light up logo is a nice touch. Seems to run quiet and cool.
Cons: NVidia drivers just blow.
I've attempted to make the switch from AMD to Nvidia 3 times, and all 3 have been plagued with issues. I had an EVGA 760 that completely hosed an OS install once I installed the drivers. Then I had the same issue with a completely different system and an EVGA 780.
So that brings me to now. I swapped out my OCed 290X (which ran beautifully, just couldn't do 4k60 over HDMI).... at first I couldn't get sound over HDMI @ 4k60 unless I followed some ridiculous set of steps with my TV. So I managed to get that squared away, and now I get random black screens for 2 seconds. Audio still plays, but the picture just blacks out every so often. The only way I've found to fix this is to go into the NVidia driver and reset the refresh from 60 to 50, then back to 60. That seems to solve the problem until the next time I turn the TV off.
You'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now...
Other Thoughts: I've tried various cables, none seem to alleviate the problem. I've tried various TV settings and ports. Again, nothing. I've even swapped out stereo receivers and played around with pass-through settings, etc.
Hurry up AMD and release a card with HDMI 2.0 so I can sell this card to someone else since Neweggs return policy is nonexistent on graphics cards. Seriously, why would I want to return the card for the same thing if it doesn't work for me?
This review is from: Nikon 2199 SLR Lenses AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens Black
Pros: This is supposed to be one of the best auto-focus 50mm's.
Cons: This is virtually cheaper EVERYWHERE else (by an average of 40-50$) This is very unlike NewEgg.
Other Thoughts: I love NewEgg (and my order history proves it) but they are priced way out of market for anyone that even googles this lense. I'd buy it here in an instant if they brought it down to at least 220 (the average) shipped. I haven't bought it yet, but will probably in the next couple weeks.READ FULL REVIEW
