This review is from: JBL SP150 10" 150-Watt Powered Subwoofer
Pros: works well with my JBL Loft 50 tower speakers.
Cons: none so far. Tried it 2.1 with my Loft 50s and then with my Loft 40 bookshelf speakers. plenty of bass for 2 channel. i had to move it around till i found the right location for good sound.
Other Thoughts: i bought this sub to match my JBL Loft system for a 5.1 secondary system. all i need now is the Loft 20 center speaker. this is the recommended sub for the Loft speakers. i've tested it as a 2.1 system with the Loft 50s and i had to turn the bass down on the sub. sounds good.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: SAMSUNG D3 Station 2TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive STSHX-D201TDB Black
Pros: the drive itself works well and has lasted about 2 years with no problems for backup storage.
Cons: i took one look at the sealed, black plastic case and removed the drive (warranty void). it was obvious that the drive would overheat with a plastic case and no ventilation, so i put the drive in a Rosewill external case with a built-in fan. problem solved. my Seagate and WD external 3.5 drives have vents, so i keep a table top fan that blows directly on the vents.
Other Thoughts: i don't understand Samsung's thinking on this case design. i would be amazed if it didn't fail with no ventilation. worked fine once i replaced the case.
using this drive is much more expensive when you have to replace the case though.
This review is from: JBL Loft 50 Three-way Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Pair)
Pros: the speakers appear to be good quality and are very narrow in width (barely wider than the 4 inch front drivers).the sound is good in my smallish master bedroom.
Cons: the packaging is terrible. both speakers are in one large box with foam padding at the top and bottom with a narrow spacer around the middle. the box arrived with 3 large holes all the way through to the speakers and numerous dents. the bottom was crushed looking, like it had been dropped off a number of trucks. except for the top and bottom, there is only the cardboard box and a 2 inch air space between the speakers and the impacts. i was suprised that the speakers themselves weren't damaged.
Other Thoughts: speaker placement is critical with these speakers largely dut to the side mounted woofers, one on each side at different heights. i moved them around while listening to different types of music until they sounded right. you can't put them too close to anything to the sides, or the bass goes away.READ FULL REVIEW
