So-So
Pros: Almost zero setup. Just have to plug into your motherboard and it's works.
Cons: Whether a card is in the reader or not, always displays 4 seperate drives (IE E:/, F:/, G:/, H:/). That gets annoying if you already use multiple hard drives and CD drives. At least with an external it only shows up with one drive. I suppose it's set up this way so that you can use all the memory card slots simultaneously. I guess it's designed for the guy who like to read/modify all of his memory cards from various devices and eras at the same time.
DOA - We'll see how the next one does
Pros: Seemed like a really nice laptop for the few minutes I got to use it before putting it back in the box to ship back to Newegg.
Cons: Dead pixel - nice bright orange dot in the top right corner of the display.
Overall Review: I'm shipping it back to newegg for exchange. I may update the review later.
Great Plan - Poor Execution
Pros: This machine has plenty of features, and was on sale for 129.95 when I purchased it. It was a great deal for the price. The print quality is good and the machine seems to work very well and doesn't have problems with jams.
Cons: The setup process is HORRIBLE for basic users. I'm a techie with plenty of experience building PC's and setting up small networks. It took hours to get this machine set up properly and I had to scour the internet for proper documentation. The on-command fax reception feature only seems to work about 50% of the time. The rest of the time the machine thinks you want to send a fax instead of receive one. Also, the printer has a duty cycle of 50,000 pages per month but they designed it with a toner cartridge that's only good for 1500 pages. It's a decent machine, but there are way better products in the same price range. I've had good luck with Oki products in the past, but I don't think I'll be purchasing anything from them in the future.
Overall Review: If you're an IT professional that needs a multi-function machine without a lot of toner capacity, this might be a decent product. For an amateur use, the setup process is a nightmare, and for a professional that does a lot of printing, having to constantly replace toner cartridges is both annoying and expensive in comparison to other units. The $99 Brother printer I bought this to replace had toner cartridges available for 10K page capacity. This one only has 1500 page cartridges.
Good keyboard bad mouse
Pros: Keyboard works great. It's lightweight, and has very fast response. I'm completely pleased with it. I'm currently using it with a different wireless mouse, and the setup works great.
Cons: The mouse is pretty innacurate and jump around the screen a lot. I went with the laser mouse hoping it would track smoother than my current optical mouse so I could use it for gaming, but this thing is a piece of junk compared to my regular old optical mouse.
Overall Review: Do they sell the keyboard separately?
