Pros: This dock is attractive but has features that my 3-year old Dell Studio XPS MT computer can't use. It would probably be great for someone with a newer computer, or who's willing to turn it off whenever you want to reboot. The USB 3.0 is backwards compatable with USB 2.0 or 1.1.
Cons: The product description doesn't state this, but you cannot access both drive bays using eSATA unless your host (PC) supports port multiplier functionality. I don't know how common that is, but my computer doesn't, and I can't boot with the dock powered up and connected via USB.
If I connect with eSATA, only one drive is recognized; drive 2 if both slots are filled, otherwise drive 1, but I can boot with the dock powered on and connected.
If I connect via USB (2.0), then both drives can be recognized. However, the dock must be disconnected or powered off until after the computer is booted. Otherwise, I get a "MBR Error 1: Press any key to boot from floppy" error on startup.
For the way I want to use my computer, that means this dock is effectively a larger and more expensive than necessary one-slot eSATA dock.
Other Thoughts: I bought this dock knowing that I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the USB 3.0 data transfer speeds until I decided to buy a new computer. I expected to just use it as a two-slot eSATA dock, so am very disappointed that the product description didn't note that the host must support eSATA port multiplier functionality. Maybe that should have been obvious, but after looking online, I still don't know how to determine that from hardware device manager settings, but I believe that's the problem I've run up against.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GPI Ledplux 7 Watt A19 OMNI LED Light Bulb Cool White 5000K - UL Listed
Pros: I recently bought some daylight lights (5000K wavelength) for my bedroom and computer room. Afterward, the soft white bulbs in the rest of my house looked dingy yellow. Along with the other bulbs that I replaced, I wanted daylight globe lights for my bathroom. I bought a set of GE Daylight globe CFLs locally, but they took 2-3 minutes to come up to full intensity, and while I could live with that in the living room (where I went with non-globe CFLs, I want my bathroom lights to come on as soon as I flip the switch. These LED bulbs that, and are 5000K wavelength. I'd have liked larger globes, but they are exactly the size that I expected from the picture and they are working great.
Cons: LED bulbs are coming down in price, but still much more expensive than CFLs.
Other Thoughts: I've read complaints from some that their LED lights didn't last nearly as long as manufacturer's claim. That's not specific to GPI LEDplux, but pretty much across the board. I don't know how long mine will last, but I'm keeping a copy of my invoice and the packaging in case I need to return them under warranty.READ FULL REVIEW
